so what? ...in the 15 rounds fights most of the middle rounds were snooooooozers, because if they did not scored KO in the first 5 rounds they were saving all they had for the last rounds so they just could stand up on their legs.
Manny started his career at 106 when he was 16. So when he was 16, he wasn't mature yet and was still growing. That's why he grew up so quick in some people's eyes. FLoyd also was 106 at 16, but the difference is you have to be 18 to turn pro in America. All credit to Pacquiao though to his record, but I'm just showing you how he got an advantage. SO youve seen every boxing fight that was 15 rounds? You cant make sweeping generalizations like this. Fact is, 15 rounds, less weight classes, one belt, made is much harder to become a champion then it is today...
I like your hard work ... however there are weak spots which lower PAC's standings ... so he might end up in top 10 for sure but top 5 may be problematic. As people are complaining the number of divisions does not count since there was not too many divisions previously, however if you see the range of weight classes PAC is still at #1 winning titles between 112-154 (42 lb span) ... no one is better, also the weight difference in higher weight classes is less important. pure record doesn't mean much, PAC may still lose a few at the end of his career to drop down significantly. This is more accurate but how did you compute the "peak" ... this is a weak and suggestive point yes you have made a strong point here "assuming they all make it" but Hatton and Cotto are borderline, Cotto may end up like a Judah or even Williams very soon and Margarito WILL NEVER MAKE TO HOF ... so thats make just 4 on the list. The above numbers just are mostly based on record padding, sometimes fighters are scoring high numbers by beating precociously selected upcommers. The better would be count only top 10 contenders or title fights. You may make comparison for above as well. So bottom line ... top 10 is realistic even now, top 5 (or even #1) it is as well but that is still a loooong way to go.
You have made automatically a big bundle ... 15 rounds, one champion, less weight classes .... there you go. There is a different side of the stick... in that times most of the boxers were more like an "amateurs" and there was a big jump between the contenders and the rest, so if someone had skills could very easily pass the entry level and then was a short list of names at the top, so for a skilled fighter it wasn't big deal to get the title fight. Now the 4 mayor belts is really too much but sometimes it is just exact number to recognize all the best players at the same time ... As the weight classes, the number of classes doesn't mean much but the span of the weight is important, so PAC winning belts between 112 and 154 means more that the number 8.

Forget the bundle then.... I think fighters who fight for 15 rounds have it tougher than fighters who fight for 12 rounds thats almost 10 minutes more of fighting after being dead tired... Im pretty sure they banned the 15 rounds for health reasons instead of because it was boring
