both clottey and margo can make 150 while martinez can only make 154.

it is obvious that martinez is bigger than both clottey and margo.

 

That's how great Pac is. He came in at l44.6 and beat Margarito who outweighed him by 17 lbs at fight night.
Pac doesn't need to prove himself. He has already achieved what's supposed to achieve as a great fighter. Fighting Martinez at middleweight is just too much. He can retire now with his legacy assured in boxing history.

Then they go off to imagine Pac climbing again another weight division (156 as maravilla stated the weight he could go lowest in killing himself to drain). It would be a very easy night for Sergio, IMO, if the fight were made at any weight he felt comfortable making. He is too skilled and athletic for his size. Margarito is big, slow, and has proven very beatable, which is why they put him in front of Pac to box circles around, for an eigth title. If there were no Cotto, already positioned at 154, or Margarito available, there would be no eigth title.

You don't go from being countered all night by JMM to fighters the caliber of a Diaz, (shot) ODLH, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, and then Martinez. There would be a big disparity in skill and size, Pac does not have the skill and size to overcome. JMM was the last truly skilled and game opponent he has faced. He is not ready for a Martinez. Skill wise, he's not ready for Floyd either. But, with Floyd, they don't have the size factor to overcome, so there's a better chance of hurting him and stopping him.

 

How many 'slick' boxers are out there around Pacquiao's weight though? and please no one say Martinez...it's pathetic to even expect Pacquiao to consider a Martinez fight.

Size is NOTHING, Pac sucks unless he wins the title in EVERY weight division.

There's no excuse for Pac ducking these fighters that only have the advantage of weighing much more than Pac. We've seen Pac start at 106lbs and then win a 154 title. Pac has a better chin than Wald, faster hand speed and better footwork, so the only reason the fights isn't being made is Pac is scared.

Still remains the truth that Team Pac have avoided every athletic, slick or speedy fighter through out his rise. I still find it very funny that he hasn't been matched with someone with handspeed like his own.

I guess they only want to take that chance if the money is great as with a fight with floyd. I'm still waiting to see how pac deals with speed like that of his own. I have some doubts about him being able to fight in his normal manner against someone like that.

As for martinez vs pac. I don't feel Martinez will look as fast as he normally does against pac. Pac will have a good speed advantage. Martinez is slick though and I don't think they want pac in the ring with anyone who has one punch power.

Pacquiao shouldn't be fighting over 147 (and yes, the 154 title was bogus).

 

Paul would be a good choice. sergio is bigger than Marg and Josh without question.. Mainly b/c he's acclimated to 154 and 160 where Josh and Marg are career Welters. But they could acclimate to higher weights as well. it just takes time to fill out and become comfortable moving up in weight. Which is why PAC requested catch weights for Cotto and Marg.

I like the Sergio fight too but I think he's too big....I think Paul is too big, but I think he has a better chance at beating paul than sergio due to styles. I think Paul can still beat PAC but I don't think that would happen. If anyone is gonna beat PAC it probably would be Martinez at 154 or 160. But I"m sure the weight would be around 154 if the fight took place. PAC needs to bulk up and get accustomed to 154 before taking on the King Pin @ that weight in my opinion.
