Its complete bull****. I've been on here a while and it amazes me how short some poster's memories are.

If everyone had the resume of fighters Jermain Taylor did, sooooo many fighters would be "exposed" or "overrated." Again, its complete and utter **** and undeserving of one of the good guys of the sport. All heart, fought anyone and has a who's who on his resume.

Look at it like this...this flawed fighter...and flawed he is...is 2-0-1 against bernard hopkins and winky wright. Two very sound and pure boxers. They both should have made Jermain look stupid right? Jermain is supposedly an overhyped hbo made bum, right? Now, even if you think he narrowly lost all those fights...nobody who is that bad gives hopkins that tough of a fight, not once but twice. and nobody who is that bad gives winky that good of a fight...the same winky who was a year removed from making tito look like an amatuer.

Again, he's one of the good guys in the sport, has fought anyone and everyone in front of him, always gives a good account of himself, and was real good once.

enough of the hate, give the man his due and proper :deal

He struggled mightly against upper level comp, and was put in against them a little too soon in his career.

After 3 violent KO's, he has paid the price.

He one had promise, but no more.

    He's done. :deal

Athletically-gifted but doesn't fight smart enough of the time. Whether it's from nerves from being on the big stage or he's just in general an idiot when fighting the best, it's still apparent.

Jermain Taylor is a great fighter. He deserves the respect of every boxing fans. He fought everyone, didn't duck anyone. I hope he gets back in the ring and exposes some over-hyped fighters.

He was a very good fighter in his heyday, whether that heyday was short or not, he was a top quality fighter.

He had his time then lost, lost again to the same guy and then perhaps wasnt the same.
2 more brutal kos to Froch and Abraham have signalled the end, but it doesnt mean you have to forget what hes done.

Hes had a great resume and a good career.

Many had him losing against BHOP and Winky, and he had alot of hype around him that was underserved.

He was a decent fighter, but he was deeply flawed and never had the stuff to make it at the top level.

The fact that the young fighters he faced in thier primes all KO'ed him in violent fashion also did not help matters.

Why do I believe this JT support has to do with who is in your avatar? :think

Taylor has some great skills...not HAD...HAS. And his skills would give just about anyone a run for their money. His biggest problem is, and always was, he fades in the later rounds. While it may be ok to fade against the likes of Hopkins or Winky, because they are generally not aggressive nor are known for their power, it is catastrophic against punchers such as Pavlik, Froch, and Abraham.

I blame his management for the way they handled his career after his loss to Pavlik. He clearly outboxed Pavlik in their first fight but began to fade, and Pavlik, albeit pretty one dimensional, caught up to him. The first mistake was jumping right into a rematch thinking they could repeat what happened in the 2nd round.

After 3 brutal knockouts, it's sad that Taylor may never be the same again. He should have been given a chance against softer opponents before going straight into a rematch with Pavlik and help build on his stamina. In addition, his confidence was destroyed and never got a chance to fully recuperate.

 was waiting for that :tong i've been a fan of jermain for a long long time.

but just look at the logic your using. he is deeply flawed and never had the stuff to make it at the top level...guys like that don't give bhop and winky that close of a fight...win lose or draw.

yeah he's a deeply flawed guy. but guys today would be protected and put in w/ guys who they match well against. but not jermain, he gets in there w/ froch and aa after he gets "exposed." other fighters would play it easy and get matched up w/ guys who don't pose a threat to them. a lot of the top guys today are smoke-n-mirrors. not jermain.

i hear where your coming from so don't think i don't. i just don't think he deserves the **** he's been catching lately. that's all.
