Who fought more Tailor made fighters in there last 3 fights, Pac or Mayweather?

I wish they would fight cause Clottey would smoke him, as he would do the same to sergio mora, even worse.

 

Doesn't matter, he's still a bigger man. Shane ain't tall either.

 

Who has Clottey beaten that would make you think he has a shot against Shane? Let's recall against common opponent Margarito, Shane decimated him, while Clottey lost, and clearly.

 

And Cotto never came close to dropping Shane, yet put Clottey on his ass in the 1st rd.

 

Lets take a look at the form the guys were in when they fought them.


Floyd:
Ricky Hatton - Undefeated, the fans were calling for it and demanding Floyd fight Hatton. If Floyd did not fight Hatton, it would have been a clear duck, said the fans. Ricky's style was extreme pressure and smothering. Floyd put on a masterclass and knocked Hatton out in ten rounds.

Juan Manuel Marquez - In a return to the ring and a tune-up bout, Floyd fought Marquez - yes, a smaller fighter - who was coming off of two celebrated stoppage wins over Juan Diaz and El Cepillo. This is the same Marquez who took Pacquiao life and death twice and was a good lead-in for a comparative opponent fight since Floyd would eventually (hopefully) fight Pacquiao. Marquez is known as an extremely intelligent counterpuncher. Floyd shut Marquez out.

Shane Mosley - Mosley was coming off of a real career defining victory in which he shattered the mandible of his iron chinned opponent. Again, the fans asked for it and they received. Many said Mosley was far too dangerous for Floyd and that Floyd would NEVER get in the ring with him. Roach himself said Mosley was too dangerous for Pacquiao. Mosley is known as a "power boxer" with fast hands and a great chin. Floyd boxed Mosley's ears off.


Pacquiao:
Miguel Cotto - Cotto, coming off of a split decision win against Joshua Clottey, had to come down to 145lbs despite having weight issues in the past in order to accommodate Pacquiao. It was a very good win despite this fact as Cotto looked good for the first four rounds. Cotto is known as a boxer with leaky defense and a suspect chin. Solid win for Pacquiao in scoring a final round mercy stoppage.

Joshua Clottey - Coming off of a loss leading into his fight with Pacquiao. Clottey is perhaps best known for not performing when the lights shine the brightest. His camp was reported to have extreme problems as his trainer was unable to train him due to problems with his VISA. Even Clottey's shower was broken for at least a period, it was said. Clottey's style can be best described as a shell in which he sits and waits for opportunities, often letting a fight just slide by on inactivity. Performing as expected, Clottey was a punching bag for the evening and Pacquiao won on the cards.

Rockgloves - Known for his chin, lack of footspeed and handspeed, this disgraced fighter had not registered a meaningful win in over two full years. In fact, in his last meaningful fight he was brutally knocked out at the hands of Shane Mosley (the guy Floyd outboxed). Just prior to said fight, Rockgloves was caught in his dressing room with loaded wraps which lead to the suspension of his boxing license for a full year. His lead-in fight with Pacquiao was a ten-round fight that flew beneath the radar. The style of Rockgloves can be best described as "plodding", as he moves forward as a human punching bag, absorbing punches to give punches. In his comeback fight after being destroyed by Mosley, Rockgloves fought at 154lbs, but had to come down to 150lbs to accommodate Pacquiao. If it wasn't enough already that Rockgloves held literally no advantages aside from height, he also had to deplete himself in terms of weight to get the fight on. Pacquiao won by a twelve round decision.

 

Anyone who would have picked Clottey against Mosley doesn't know boxing. Clottey is a stationary target and Mosley would be rattling shots off of the immobile target all night. Incredibly easy fight to call.

I like Clottey, but you and I are on the same page. Shane wins a clear decison. Clottey might have some moments, but thats about it.

 

I know boxing very well, and that stationary Target broke Zab down who's faster than Shane, especially in there fight. Not only would shane not be able to hurt him with one big shot but he'd be a stationary target for Clottey, especially now.

And Clottey would of beatin Marg had he not hurt his hands and Cotto is a better techinical fighter than Mosely and he almost loss to Clottey.

Nope, I just don't agree with it. And I have that right. All of this stuff comes from the Steriod allegations, which is wrong.

 

Floyd would have his hands full, lets not forget Zab was outboxing Floyd easier than he was Clottey.

 

1. Shane Mosley is a better fighter than Zab Judah and the two fight nothing alike. The fact that you're using a win over Judah to discuss a fight with Shane Mosley tells me you have trouble analyzing styles. I can't even begin to state how far off that is.

2. My favourite argument that people make: Clottey "would have" [insert accomplishment] if not for [insert reason]. The fact is that Clottey loses in his biggest fights. Against Cotto he blames the judges but it can really be traced to the fact that he simply refused to throw punches against a maimed opponents for the final two rounds. Against Rockgloves he "hurt his hands". Against Pacquiao he "had a bad training camp". The only consistent thing with Clottey is excuses.

Shane Mosley would get the better of Clottey, it's as sure a bet as you can get in boxing. Styles make fights and Mosley tees off on stationary targets. Nothing in Clottey's arsenal troubles Mosley. Not a single thing. In fact, Mosley loves to fight that sort of fighter. Stand still and Mosley mows you down. Not to mention that Clottey simply loses his biggest fights, plain and simple.

 

There's no chance in hell that Clottey would beat Floyd. What's Clottey going to do, try to pick his shots against the best shotpicker in the game? Nothing Clottey does would bring Floyd any trouble. It's target practice for Floyd and he's a great marksman.
