The only round that was decisive one way or the other was the 3rd. 1st and 2nd could have gone either way. LM style makes him look disorganised as he skips backwards maybe that was a factor, let's be honest when the rounds are that close and uneventful a judge HAS to look at the small details to make a decision.

You idiot he didn't show octogon control. So his back was to the center of the ring. machida moved and struck kept him off balance with kicks and counte strikes and even lead strikes fought in spurts. Machida was very relaxed in that fight. especially the first round. That is like saying that a boxer can pursue another boxer but kets hit with the jab and never does anything he is going to win the round just because he is coming forward. In this fight jackson was not always coming forward.

Its an opinion but I think its one backed up by alot of what we've seen in recent years.

Hardly UFC bashing either since there have been more than a few questionable calls in Strikeforce, Bellator etc aswell.

I'd guess that if bias is present that rather than direct bribery/influence its more likely a case of the judges knowing who the fans/promoters favour, in that situation the temptation is always going to be their to score close rounds for that fighter.

Its not helped by how nemblious MMA's scoring criteria is so that any reasonabley close round can be justifed either way by choosing to weigh some areas more heavly than others, cage clinching, leg kicks, aggresion etc all seem to vary greatly in importance depending on who's involved. Leg kicks don't score for Shogun but they do for Forrest, cage clinching doesnt score for Shogun but it does for Rampage.

    Shogun/Machida 1
    Randy/Vera
    Lil Nog/Brilz
    Bisping/Hamil
    JZ/Thomson
    Forrest/Rampage
    Lil Nog/Bader
    Fuji/Frasto
    Machida/Rampage
    etc

Those decisions range from terrible to close but the common factor in all of them was that the more marketible fighter at the time won. I can't be the only one who see's that close(and sometimes not so close) fights tend to go that way the majority of the time.

We hear much less fuss about possible bias in MMA because their isnt the same history of it there is in boxing with the judges/AC's impartiality niavely accepted. The UFC and other promoters naturally look to turn discussion away from judging bias towards competance when they comment at all.

machida didnt do a damn thing until the third round, watch the fight again dumbass, all he did is back away, he landed a few leg kicks but nothing more, rampage was always the one coming in, except the third round exhange, so you try to call someone an idiot go bak and wach the fight you dried up cum bubble, Fukin stupied, your just on the machida bandwagon, and cant take the loss.

Nonsense, Rampage was not "coming in" he was happy to stay at Machida's range looking to counter for most of the first round while taking leg and body shots.

Really though even if he had been "coming in" thats hardly enough to win a round in which he was clearly outlanded.

Evidently i have a better memory than you do. No actually I have trained mixed martial artist and I was primarily a kickboxer. Granted rampage did ease in and kind of walked him back However that machida's style he can fight going backward and counter etc. The first round machida initiated the striking and rampage tried to counter, Just watch it. he would throw punches and kicks than he would leave and rampage tried to hit him and machida would be gone if he got too close and his back was to the cage Machida would tie him up and escape when he could. Son that is how you are supposed to fight. he fought his fight which takes skill and you evidently do not know what skill is.

I scored one and three for Machida.

But it was too close to be anything more than surprised at the result.

The only guy I saw "running in missing his punchs" was Rampage, Machida might not have hurt Jackson but he did clearly land several signficant strikes, far more than Jackson achieved.

I'v never been on the Machida wagon but rather the "correct decision" and "preffer to see the more impressive looking fighter involved with the title" wagons.

The title scene at LHW right now is getting pretty depressing, you've got Shogun and Jones performing well but Rashad, Bader and Rampage have not impressed me at all recently riding on the back of LnP and dodgy decisions while almost getting finished, gassing and being unwilling to enguage respectively. A division that promised so much a year ago really has gone down the tubes due largely to the currnet judging enviiroment.
