Is Hatton allowed to hug, wrestle, grab, buy time with his shoelaces, throw rabbit punches and low blows like in his hometown fights? He got found out big time when suddenly the ref wasn't on his payroll.

Since Hatton got KO'd by Pacquiao and the NOTW, there is now this perception that he always had a terrible chin and gatekeepers would have been able to beat him, despite Hatton showing throughout his career that he always had more than enough to handle the title contenders in and around his division, he just couldn't handle elite boxers.
