Better quality of opposition: Ruben Olivares or Carlos Ortiz

    Danny Lopez

    Carlos Ortiz:

    Battling Torres
    Duilio Loi
    Flash Elorde
    Ismael Laguna
    Nicolino Locche
    Sugar Ramos
    Carlos Teo Cruz
    Ken Buchanan

    You should add in Ramirez, Herrera, and Torres for Olivares. Lane and Brown among others for Ortiz. Not sure what standard you're using when laying out their opposition. I'd give the narrow edge to Ortiz, though.

    Ortiz beat the better opponents in my opinion but they fought a similar level of competition.

    Agreed. Although I think Olivares fought the marginally better fighters.

    That's what I was thinking.

    Olivares fought better, but Ortiz actually beat better.
