Good point. And Moore did defeat a number of bigger guys who were quality fighters in their own right, especially in the run that he enjoyed during the early part of the 50's.

Respect your opinion combat, but until I see Pacquiao treading water closer to Bernard Hopkins' age, there's no comparison to Archie. Pacquaio is very good, but not to be mentioned in the same breadth as Archie Moore yet.

  5. i respect your opinion too.
but maybe you will change your mind if manny beats floyd?

If Manny fights a retread like Cotto or Mosley, he would disappoint the whole boxing world.

    If Manny
    A. Faces and defeats Floyd or
    B. Drops down and defeats a young, undefeated lion like Berto or Bradley
-Then he'll probably be close to top 10 all time by my calculations.

If Manny takes the linear Middleweight Title away from Maravilla Martinez, then he can conceivably crack the top 10 and become a god of war.

    -------
It's wise to wait for his retirement to really get into the nuts and bolts of his career, but I think that this fighter is an all-time great. How gloriously he will be rememebered depends directly on his and Roach's decisions as to who he fights for his next 2 or 3 opponents before retiring. Roach is, to my dismay, less concerned with legacy and more concerned with risk and the financial factor. He is the man who will finally decide and I hope that he decides well. Manny is on a threshold here.

pacquiao had four lineal championships, 112, 126, 130, 140. should he beat mayweather, he would be welterweight lineal champ, not bad for a former 106 lbs boxer

    Manny will never face mayweather.
    Seriously.
I would still like to see him fight Bradley, Alexender, Berto, or if he has to he could move up and fight Martinez.

I personally think Martinez beats Pacquiao.

  14. or mayweather never will face manny...

and i think that the present manny would beat any present welter. except for floyd.. i am not sure on him
