It would be a great fight but now now, Canelo is still young and needs to beat some old names.

    Berto's resume isn't much better.

    I say let's do it.

    GBP, work it.

Alvarez has been fighting at catchweights above 147 over his last few fights, but that is normal for young fighters in non-title fights.

Apparently the plan is for Canelo to start at WW

I'd like it, but I doubt it happens. Alvarez will skip Berto and go straight after Mosley, who's also with GBP.

Hmm this i actually think Canelo could take now. I honestly just dont see anything special in Berto. I used to but he didnt evolve properly to what i expected.

Im gonna go out on a limb and say Canelo takes this one even now. In a couple of years or next definately Canelo.

Much as I hate Berto.... Alvarez isnt ready for him YET.

Needs like another year. But Berto's chin is ****. So even if they did fight within a year, theres a very good possibility Alvarez could catch him clean and put him to sleep.

If that is the case he should be at that weight now he has had alot of fights already, i dont want to hype him up but he has potential and good management behind him.

    Berto talks a LOT.

He always freaking talks about who's he going to fight but never ****ing fights them.

But to the match-up, I think it would be a very interesting match-up and not one which would be an easy one for Canelo.

Canelo ewas hurt against Jose Cotto, if I'm correct and Berto is a pretty heavy handed guy and a come forward pressure fighter.

Would be a very very stern test.
