Sergio Martinez can be timed with right hands when he attacks, when you sit back and look to counter him, noticed this in both his fights with Pavlik, Cintron.

Martinez coped against Cintron cause he used lateral movement to offset him before stepping in with his attacks, also, because Cintron has a habit of bending to the right to avoid to protect himself, only against a southpaw, that is the kind of thing that can leave you open, as your bending into their power hand.

To Martinez's credit, he knows how to switch up, he will either use more movement to reset you before attacking, or he when he attacks, he wont attack with singles that you can counter when you become wise to it, he will either double on the left hand (Cintron), or put a combo together(Pavlik), as when you try to bend away like Cintron was doing, or shell up the conventional way like Pavlik, he can just throw more punches and disorganize in that situation, which can make it harder for you to time him, that said, I do wonder what would happen if he fought a really good boxer who made him come foward, now I dont mean come foward and meet them in the centre, I mean where by Martinez goes on the front font where you could really, potentially, have success timing those rushes, attacks.

Even though Pavlik and Cintron lost, they did in fact show us exactly how to beat Martiinez.

Pavlik showed us how to beat Martinez? Are you serious?

The fight wasn't all that close....and Cintron was stopped.

Hope Pacquiao, Mayweather and Cotto are reading this thread and the hot lines are ringing to take on Maravilla!

All Pavlik showed us is that he is incapable of beating a fighter who doesnt stand in-front of him. All Cintron showed us was that not all fights are over just because the referee counts to 10.

Also martinez chose to bring the fight to williams this time rather than pot shot and he clearly beat the **** outta him. In the second half against pavlik, again at a reach disadvantage, same thing same result. Against mayweather he'll be more than content to stay outside and has the tools to do it. That's why he is so dangerous for mayweather.

And who the hell isn't open when they go inside to attack? That's where martinez lateral movement and skills come into play.

Mayweather is the only guy who can do that on a consistent basis at 154lbs, at 160lbs I don't think anyone will beat this guy until age catches up.

The boxer world should thank God you are not a trainer. You would get a lot of fighters hurt.

Gooners take note kid, and this isnt something you noticed, this is something thats been around for years and years before you were born, ALL South Paws can get nailed with right hands which is why they say lead with your right hand when facing a southpaw...
So your little "discovery" isnt really much this is something we all have known for a very long time and its not just Sergio all Southpaws are suspect to that shot

something i noticed in both those fights is when Martinez feels that his opponent is catching on he will switch it up until they solve the new style/trick and so on. This shows he is adaptable on top of his other gifted traits, Maravilla is a force i'm telling you the only downside is hes 35 (a fresh 35 but still) and uses a Speed centric style that is vulnerable to age.

You dont lead with your right hand per say because they are open to it, you lead with the right hand cause its a great set up punch to get in closer, so you can throw the left hook over the shoulder and catch them when the try to pivot away from the set up right hand, then once you land the hook over the shoulder, you throw another right hand, left hook, and cause your still in range, you more likely to land.

When a guy who drops his hands, does not always make the right decision when to come in with his attack, lacks a consistent jab, he is going to struggle on the front foot against someone who can counter puncher, someone who uses their legs imo.
