Saw no mention of the Froch fight. Does the average person have a clue who the Cobra is? I thought Hennessey was a world class promotor, somethings not right.
It's a ****ing shame. He's fought some of the very best at his weight yet gets little mainstream attention. Had he been with Warren and Sky he'd be a household name.
I was reading the latest Ring magazine...had a big editorial about all the great fights coming up in the last couple of months of the year. Not a mention of froch - abraham, but a 4 page spread previewing Haye-Harrison, 5 pages on James Toneys MMA exploits and a 12 page feature and interview with Tomas Adamek who isnt even fighting again this year. What a waste of a fiver, joke magazine !
You could debate whether Carl is currently Britain's number 1 P4P and no normal fans know who he is, it is quite strange but as people have said its down to fat Mick..
There was two paragraphs in yesterdays sun about how Froch thinks the super 6 is still a worth while tournament, but thats all i've seen. Its a shame really, especially how the haye farce attracted backpage news yet this fight, which has the makings and ingredients to be an absolute classic, hardly gets a mention in the mainstream.I hope the publicity picks up later in the week but i cant see that happening.
the super 6 will have made froch more famous in u.s. and the rest of europe' hennessys got him plenty of world title action by putting him in the competition, but his uk general profile leaves much to be desired, it would seem hennessy has put all his brit publicity efforts into tyson fury, as the general public will be more familiar with him, and he hasen't fought for the domestic title yet. my fingers are crossed for froch to win saturday, he's the best british fighter at current time, he's proven himself in top world class, more so than david haye.
he needs to say something to get himself in the papers , if the old method of just getting on with things isnt working then get your name out there its micks fault
I think the average sports fan will know who he is bt won't no that he is fighting outside the east midlands.
There's been no mention of it in the October, November and December issues of Boxing Monthly. Its a joke that someone who fights the best and is rarely in a bad fight is pretty much unknown to the average Brit. If he was on Sky he'd be a household name. Just look at the transformation in popularity for Haye after Setanta went bust and Sky picked him up. He became a household name in the run up to the Valuev fight when most people won't have heard of him before then because Sky didn't have him
