But those numbers mean nothing when you consider that Pac was fighting a guy coming of a loss in a fight "nobody" wanted to see while Floyd was fighting a guy coming off a great win in a fight "everyone" wanted to see.

Another thing, Margo and SSM although not considered PPV attractions have a lot more to do with those numbers than people are giving them credit for.

    In Summary:

"Sugar" Shane Mosley (twice a dance partner in PPV of the PPV King ODLH) against Floyd is a fight "everyone", i repeat - "EVERY" FIGHT FAN alive wants to see.

The cheater, inactive, nobody to casual fans, a disowned by mexican fighter being pitted against Pacquiao is a fight "NO" fight fan wants to see. Arum randomly picks the tallest WW in his stable, and say - "hey boy what's your name, ok you look like big enough to me - c'mon fight Pac for 6 mil".

    The difference is just 250k?

    250k x 59.00 = $14,750,000

    Just 15 million ?

Pac is a big draw. Just not as big as mayweather. He has earned the right to call himself the cash cow of boxing. But he need to fight soon or the milk may dry out lol.

Actually if im recallling right the price for pay per view vs Mayweather/mosley was 49 dollars while pacquiao vs margocheato was 59 dollars. so actually the manny/margocheater fight made more money

Do you remember how well marketed GBP budgeted the "Sugar" Shane Mosley vs. Floyd? They are everywhere, posters, tv ads, sponsored by them type of guestings, you name it. I got tired seeing the 2 fighters and Schaefer/OLDH everywhere i go and watch.

I personally bought the Shane/Floyd PPV, and just watched Margo/Pac on streaming.

Arum lamenting in his son's lost plus he never really shell out on Pac fights since Clottey fight, he focuses more on the Gates because Jones and him dodgily sharing it (w/out needing to share with HBO/MGM). Apart from 24/7 only advertising the fight receives are TV shows/programs/senatorial campaigning "inviting" Pac for their own rating's sake.

To me, the 10 to 15 million "gross" (not net) difference evens that out.

and Pac/Margarito was highly promoted as well.

Face it, Mayweather does better numbers. Common opponents, you name it. 55/45 split in Mayweathers favor or you're nothing more than a fanboy with excuses.

pac is becoming a bigger and bigger star by every fight, but as is floyd- this thing is going back and forth- whomever fights last has the more impressive ppv performance. people argueing for this or that guy being the bigger ppv star- are arguing that there man deserves a bigger cut- but in the end- this fight dont happen unless its 50/50. we all know that.

im happy pac performed as well as floyd did - relatively speaking in terms of opponents, etc- for their last fight. if floyd can see rationally that they are , for all intensive purposes- equals in terms of stardom and success- this fight will be easier to negotiate.

if it came down to it- and pac really wanted to fight- and to appease floyd- he could offer 55/45 of us ppv to floyd and take 60/40 of international ppv - that d even out anyway.

in the end- i think both guys want the fight- but both recognise the risk- and are starting the fight as early as possible, from the order of names on the marquee to ring entrances to of course, ped testing, its all leverage for either man- to say- hey im the man. for the last fight- pac submitted most terms to floyd, his name was to be first, he was to come out second and be announced second, and he was able to negotiate some ped testing, the only condition pac had in his favour was the weight penalty.

i hope this fight ****ing happens, we discuss boxing politics on here nowadays more than boxing itself.

Pac fought last and had 1.15mil. PBF fought 6 months ago and had 1.4 mil. So, this part of your theory is trash. PBF always does better numbers.

Pac almost doubled his last PPV, who knows how far he will stretch the next non-Floyd fight from 1.15M+ US PPV.

You heard it here first, this Margo fight is the last fight Pac will go under 1.4 (but then again i don't have to say that, anyone with common sense knows the slope is going up fast).

Pac got the Mexican audience with Marg though, Mosley has never been a big draw. Lets compare if Pac fights Mosley

What excuses? Ah, you comparing "Sugar" Shane Mosley + Floyd VS. Pac + Boycotted MargoCheatoNobodyMexDisowned = SSM + Floyd wins by very slim margin?

Ok if you want to compare apples from oranges, whatever makes you happy. :good
