Since the win, Martinez is being measured up against the two best pound for pound fighters in the sport, Jeff's nephew Floyd Mayweather Jr., and Manny Pacquiao. Mayweather believes Martinez is being a bit overrated for last Saturday's win. He says Williams lacks a proper defense and doesn't use his height advanatge, or his 81-inch reach, to win fights. Because of the way Williams fights, it was a knockout waiting to happen. "Martinez is much physically bigger than both of them, but he's not more skilled than either one of them. He's a very good fighter, but people are giving him too much credit for landing one punch. He's not no devastating puncher. Paul Williams can make everyone [look like] a devastating puncher, if they could punch, because he's a guy with no defense."

"Right now Martinez is a name that's ringing and making noise. Maybe it's a fight that Floyd will take, or Manny Pacquiao. If Floyd takes it, he would take it at his natural weight because he only walks around at 156-pounds."

I completely agree with Jeff Mayweather.

Floyd would easily outbox Martinez. He would make him look silly.
Manny would wreck Martinez all night with his right hook. Martinez has a problem constantly touches his nose with his left glove. It puts him in a position to do nothing when he does this vs. a Southpaw with a right hook. Manny being a visual fighter would exploit the **** out of that. Martinez also can't punch while moving.

Floyd is not KOing Martinez. I say nothing about Pac because I'm always wrong. For Martinez not being a devastating puncher I don't agree he was able to KO Cintron and Williams with one punch.

Sergio deserves all the accolades and praise he is getting right now, but Jeff Mayweather is right...on a skill level, SM isn't on FMJ or Pac's level. Because of his size, however, he has a very good chance of beating both of them.

Just because your coach teaches it doesn't mean you can implement it.

Once again Jeff Mayweather is out there telling the truth.

Martinez is a hell of an athlete and Paul Williams was a GREAT win, however the fact is that Martinez is an A+ athlete with B+ skills who knocked out a physical freak with an B+ offense with a D- defense.

Martinez is a Argentinian RJJ. The difference seems to be though that Martinez will work a game plan and not rely solely on his gifts. Problem for him is that Mayweather will switch if he sees you having success. Pac? One trick pony. However if either man can start getting the better of him? He will most likely revert to his hands down athletic roots.
