I feel Lyle actually has a style advantage here. Trevor would present a bit to easy a target, and get hit quite often. And when Lyle could whack you repeatedly, he could accumulate damage. Lyle late TKO or clear, rather wide, UD.
are you forgetting that Tyson was a much harder puncher then Lyle and faster... So yes Berbick would get a chance to do his drunken waltz... Lyle wasn't really a KO puncher like Tyson was
tyson was not MUCH harder puncher than lyle, tyson was harder puncher simply. lyle was a very muscular 220 pounder as strong as tyson if not stronger, i might argue that lyle had more strength than tyson.lyle was a boxer-puncher bigger and he had longer reach than tyson. with more heart
Well Tyson has better KOs over better opposition then Lyle. lyle's best knockdown was over George foreman, when George was depressed and definitely past his best. And even then, he couldn't finish him off, where as Tyson certainly would have. You can definitely say Lyle is stronger then Tyson, I don't really know, but Tyson still hits harder then Lyle. And berbick was only really stopped twice by Tyson and mercado. I don't see Lyle doing it as he didnt really stop anyone of high note, except Earnie Shavers who wasn't a very durable guy himself. I have Lyle-Ledoux on film, Lyle couldn't stop Ledoux, and even got floored by him. I think Berbick is at least better then ledoux.
Berbick could spoil the night of a better boxer with his awkwardness but Lyle liked nothing more than an opponent walking right at him, as Berbick would do.
if berbick tried trading punches with lyle then he'd have to get somebody to pick his head up from the back of the hall.even big george resorted to using the jab to set lyle up for the ko.
