Listening to Andy Raymond on Fox last night he said there will be changes for next year with the boxing and he also said make or break year for the sport .I dont think Andy is a real fan of boxing he is always talking about mma and kickboxing taking over . What do you guys think?
read at Seconds Out that they may be going back to Friday night fights.bad for me i prefer league to boxing and liked it being Thursday nights so i could watch both.
They are going back to friday night fights. Whether people like it or not Andy is a WAY bigger fan of MMA then boxing these days, just check out his facebook account, its all he talks about. Boxing is far from finished & the way FOX do things i would be suprised if much at all changes on any of their cards. I remember similar remarks being said a couple years ago that their would be massive changes to FOX's boxing, except the only thing that has happened is it went to Thursday Night for 1 year. The number of shows has been between 12-15 per year for the last 10 yrs.
FOX need to agree to televise fights instead of giving promoters just dates. Similar to the UK & US. Its the only way then you will see a better product delivered. Fox Example: IMO Jamie Myer's show this wkend should have been televised instead of the garbage last night.
wouldnt mind seeing Sherrington-Hamden on Fox too even though the other fights are battle of the codes.says here he may of fought Ward if Sakio didnt Kags. http://www.goldcoast.com.au/article/2010/11/19/271965_gold-coast-sport.html
Make or break year probably refers to competition. If Jamie Packer throws a bit of money into boxing via Channel 10/OneHD, Fox will take it up the pooper. Depends what Jamie wants to do. If he says yes, Fox Sports Boxing is history. You think Packer will be happy showing average stuff for free while Fox charges for the good fights? He'll take over...KP style. You think people will keep paying the drip fee to watch boxing, if Packer chucks it on for free? The Free Market is a wonderful thing at times.
