To say Tyson has the same power as Foreman, is a terribly silly misconception. I guarantee you that if Tyson had a stand up style like Foreman, his punches wouldn't do nearly as much damage.

 

If were talking 88 Tyson vs 73 Foreman, than I have to lean towards Tyson by late stoppage. Tyson, in his prime could fight in the later rounds and win and still look fresh with his punching power still intact.

 

i will give you that foreman had superior durability but a prime tyson was never really in a life and death struggle really was he , and the lyle fight shows us that foreman while being very durable could be hurt , tyson would start fast as i feel this would be his only chance to catch foreman first and push his advantage at great speed and ferocity but i do think that ultimately foreman would score a ko victory , and may i add that the young tyson would also perhaps have the added burden of not having the capabilities to perhaps cope with such a struggle mentally

yes, tyson was not a crappy frazier, tyson was tyson and frazier was frazier. i agree tyson was a very good boxer, but frazier got up many times, probably tyson would be knocked out in the first knock down or the second. frazier was better body puncher than tyson,he had more stamina, he did more pressure.the size was practically equal, frazier weighed 214 and 224 pounds against foreman. anyway man, styles make fights and george would neutralize the style of mike. foreman would push back him.
tyson would fight better against stylists than foreman would do, but foreman would be too much for tyson.

I think Foreman is overrated to be honest, but Tyson is ridiculously overrated. Tyson was a good prospect who never proved to be a completely developed fighter, and that's mostly a matter of mentality. And technically I think he's made for Foreman.

People just love the Tyson hype, I'm not sure if they are even real boxing fans. Tyson was an impressive specimen with an aggressive style and a KO punch but he couldn't even sustain his reign over what was really a weak era.
Foreman is overrated for similar reasons but overall he showed a hell of a lot more character than Tyson.
