a question for the glass jawed boxers. any training to make their jaws stronger? for example: a boxer coming off from a devasting loss via a tko: can his jaw be strengthened to make it more tougher on his next fight?
plus the myth that if you have a glass jaw: is is true that forever you"ll have this glass jaw??:huh
    just asking! tnx!!

Dude, you're not going to like.. strap on some weights on your cheek bone and start working out, it doesn't work like that.. try strengthening your neck, and one other important part is legs and balance.. put down some work in the gym and work on those parts. And it's obviously mental strength too, okay.. maybe you're glassy.. but what separates a champion from an average fighter is how he can get up and succeed.

Glass jaws, China chins they are all myths, a well placed shot will cause any one even people that try to toughen their jaws/chins to get dropped

toughen up your defense and you don't need to worry about the chin/jaw

I wouldn't call it a myth, however.. physically, just about anyone is vulnerable for a knockout, no doubt. Weaks are also circumstantial, weight drain have effects, adding weight, dropping weight.. and obviously preparation.
Look at Ali, example.. he's the kind of guy that I would personally believe had a great chin because he had such a mental strength, and he was obviously physically prepared, aswell as mentally.. for just about every fight in his life.

A glass jaw is like a knockout punch, it originates in the genes. Nobody in all of history has turned glass into cast iron.

I never got strengthening your neck helps you. If you get stunned or knocked out isn't it because your brain is hitting against your skull, so wouldn't having a stronger neck transmit more energy from the punch to your brain, since your neck is diffusing less energy now.

Brain moves within the skull because the head snaps back. Boxers strengthen their necks to prevent the head from snapping back. Isn't there a boxing gym where you live?

Not at the moment so I'm just trying to get in the best shape I can for boxing till I might be able to get to one. I was just never clear on how the physics of that worked but I think I got it now.

Dempsey used to chew on pine gum. Do that. A hunk of rubber should be a good alternative if you can not find the pine gum.
