good point, i thought john beat derry mathews, but its hard for a scottish boxer to complain about decisions, she's a awfull place to travel to if you haven't got cast iron in your gloves, and prepared to give weight away. mind you its getting the same everywhere, wich corner you come out of has more to do with victory than if you can fight.:-(

 

Public work out tomorrow at braehead shopping centre. Starts at 4 o'clock, including john thain, mick roberts, appleby, arthur and finally burns at 8 pm. His last spar before his fight I believe.

 

Ricky wont be sparring at Braehead,pad work, skipping,shadow boxing and excercises.we had great difficulty in getting sparring for this fight,thankfully we got some excellent work in with those who were prepared to help out,thanks very much to them all.I am equally unhappy others decided not to spar they know who they are and wont be asked again has they have let Ricky and themselves down to many times before!ps its 7-8.30pm for ricky.

 

In that case maybe you should be more grateful for the sparring you have got before the Martinez fight rather than publicly slating the boys performance in sparring on here for all to see. I'm sure Ricky was grateful for the sparring and would probably have been embarrassed by the things you wrote.

Fenech would've been to much for Barry at Featherweight/super feather and probabily even lightweight (although it would've been tougher for him at 135). As soon as Michael realised he couldn't back Jeff up, it would've been curtains and he would get out-worked on the inside. Fenech was much more of a beast then Michael. And probabily stronger even if he came up. Granted Barry would've taken his shots no problem, but so would Fenech. It's a clear decision win for JF IMO.

Barry michael struggled in all his big fights, you criticise Fenech for "out slapping" Nelson, but he has a win over a HOFer and been in with much better competition and overcome differing styles. Barry was going "life and death" with Frankie Ropis, but he would tear Jeff "a new one"? yeah right, Bob. :good

Were both grateful to the lads who did spar, but has you can imagine or maybe you can't if someone has said they'd spar you and only give you a matter of hours notice that totally unexceptable and unprofessional, as were preparing for a world title fight and required quality sparring. Wouldn't you have been pissed off?Fortunatly we got great sparring for the fight and it showed on the night.

 

At the end of the day you still came on here and slated the boys performance against Ricky in the spar, pretty classless really, did you do that just because you were pissed off that they only gave you a couple of hours notice?

 

I dont see were your going with this but i will tell you this if they were ever to fight Burns will win with ease,remember what he done with the big gloves on! what would he do with the wee 8oz on? the thing MIK1000 is when you give your word that you'll do something you should stick to it,not many on here will say im wrong?

 

I don't exactly see where you're going with this either because I was never disputing the result of the fight. I'm the oldest and biggest Ricky burns fan on this website.

If your big problem is that he called off sparring with Ricky at late notice then I don't think that exactly justifies you slandering him on here, especially if you're going to have the cheek to ask for him to spar ricky again for the next camp then somehow be surprised that they refused to help you.

Just looks pretty bad on your part from a neutrals point of you.
