    Round 10

Piispanen has rediscovered the sharpness on his jab, but Rasilla is gladly eating it to push forward and swing curving shots with both long arms bent. Piispanen is forced to clinch every time he receives Rasilla, and is being pushed to the ropes and taking some flush bombs. Rasilla is just pounding away and Piispanen is unable to squirm free.

    98-92 Piispanen

    Round 11

Both are aggressive straight away. Rasilla launches right hands while Piispanen tries to greet him with the 1-2. They clinch up in too awkward and pretzel-like a manner to infight and need to be separated many times in a row. Rasilla is bending his knees as he walks Piispanen down and digging hooks to the body. Piispanen backs him away with some overhand rights to the ear. Rasilla steps in with a left hook and forces Piispanen to flurry desperately to gain some distance. Rasilla is just falling in, giving up his reach and making a sloppy inside war out of it while leaning his chest into Piispanen's face.

Rasilla has clearly won three in a row, after clearly losing the first eight.

    107-102 Piispanen

If Rasilla had better timing he could have won this

    Round 12

They're right into a clinch with Piispanen caught under Rasilla's left arm. Rasilla tries to clap him on the back with his free right. They split and Piispanen tries to surge forward with his jabs and windmills. They each land long rights at the same time and Rasilla looks hurt! They lean their heads on each other's shoulder and bang away until Piispanen's mouthpiece drops out. They get right back at it, grappling and punching up the middle and around over the top. Big action in the 12th! Piispanen's mouthpiece is out again. Rasilla lands a jab and Piispanen responds with a 1-2. Piispanen looks a bit spent from that effort and hugs Rasilla about the back with both arms. RASILLA LANDS A MASSIVE RIGHT HAND THAT LITERALLY KNOCKS PIISPANEN'S MOUTHPIECE ACROSS THE RING! The bell rings a moment later, and may have just saved Piispanen.

    Wow.

116-112. This was easy to score.

Whoever said this was boring, or that these guys are C-level needs to STFU.

    Seriously.

    "Boxing fans" are such ***gots.

You get a decent contest like this as a bonus on such a great boxing day and you're going to complain? Seriously, GTFO.

You should have been judging IB, much more accurate!

It is a split draw. :blood

One judge gave it to Piispanen by two points, one to Rasilla by two points and the third scored it even.

Even 115-113 Piispanen seems like too many rounds for Rasilla, IMO.

1-8 were clearly Ville's, and 9-12 were clearly Daniel's. :huh

At least he retains his title.

I mean, Rasilla has balls of steel and was damn close to scoring a comeback KO...but no way he won enough rounds to even be within 2 points of a draw...let alone a draw...let alone being up 2 points. :?

I was expecting some very one-sided cards in favour of Piispanen, strange.

As you said though, at least he kept his belt!
