In that case since arum stated that at this point a fighter will basically have to sign themselves over to top rank to get a fight with pacquioa, since he does not need to do a co promotion. It will most likely be mosley seeing how he went over to arum to inform him that he is a free agent and on his own, meaning he would be willing to sign himself over to top rank in order to fight with pacquiao. Arum is too smart to not take up on that offer.

Fixed. Quitana and Hernandez since the Mosley cancellation.

Edit: Look, I am not saying Berto can't win or not skilled or not entertaining. My point is, Berto is arguing with JMM fans and NOT arguing with Arum and Pac. The evidence is self explanatory.
Let me put it this way, both JMM and Berto brought 2 arguments to me last night. With JMM's history with Pac, proven style vs Pac, resume, performance and built in Mexican fans, who would you pick if you where Arum?

Reppin, I don't agree with your post or your logic here, if I am correct you are saying that Berto's win will cause Team Pacquiao to avoid him right ?

Because he is too dangerous maybe ?

    Come on, explain please ...

Essentially he didn't look vulnerable enough (even though I don't think he's any less vulnerable than he was before the fight) for them to make this fight. I don't think he would beat Manny, but I think he offers a different kind of challenge and one that I would like to see. He's young, extremely fast hands, and strong but he also has plenty of flaws as well, which is why I would pick Manny to beat him. The bottom line is that whatever chance he had to get this fight, are gone now, because he didn't show the vulnerability to give Pac's team confidence they would walk through him.

If berto had show vulnerability against a fighter of freddy the riel hernandez caliber you think that would give him more of a chance at a showdown with pac. On the contrary, who would pay to see berto a fighter who has never headlined a top ppv fight against pac especially if he had looked vulnerable last night.

If anything I think the 1st round TKO helped Berto's cause to fight Pac. Perhaps now some of the sports writers will get behind this potential matchup.

Berto has to prove himself to me before I'd consider him a threat to Pacquiao, yes he is young and has fast hands, but that's about all we can say for sure just now until we see him facing better opposition.

I doubt Team Pacquiao are in any way shape or form worried about Berto or have had their "confidence" affected.

Seriously, that is a weak argument m8.

Like the article said manny wants his guaranteed purse, which would only come against an elite credible opponent in the form of ppv sales. At this point berto is not capable of generating that, not yet at least.

How is Berto supposed to prove himself if they don't give him a shot. Floyd didn't fight him when he was the #1 contender for his title, and now Pac probably won't fight him. This is still a more meaningful fight than Mosley would be, because he has a belt and is undefeated. Mosley lost Cotto and Mayweather, so what's Pac trying to prove exactly? Is he fighting just for the most money now?

So Manny now is a follower of Floyd's "If it don't make dollars, then it don't make sense" theory.

If you were a fighter who would you rather have on your resume of opponents mosley or marquez both future hof fighters or berto?
