Definitely. After the fight, I looked at Katsidis with pride. He is a great champion. I'm sure the bars were rocking in Oz when he put Marquez down. I was in Australia for the Chavez fight and the crowd in the bar I was in were fantastic. I hope Katsidis wins a title and can have a defence or two in Australia.
Unfortunately he's not even a household name in Australia, unlike Danny Green and Anthony Mundine, boxing is virtually underground in Australia which sucks.
Yeah, that's a shame. Mundine fought Geale when I was there too and that seemed a much more significant fight. I hoped Katsidis would be close to that though, but maybe not. He deserves every bit of credit he gets.
I'm sorry. I didn't see anything special in Katsidis last night or in previous fights. Didn't an old, faded Casamayor beat him a few fights ago? He's just not that good of a boxer. People are giving him credit for not being at his brother's funeral? Come on, he could have been home and back in a day, two days at most. Believe me, if anybody in my family died, I would be there for them. Boxing isn't that important. If HBO was fishing for sympathy, they didn't get any from me.
