How did Prophet die again? I remember that he appeared on ESPN and looked quite impressive during those times that I saw them.

Speaking of people who really impressed during their appearances on ESPN, how about mentioning Kid Akeen Anifowoshe. He exhibited blazing speed and a lot of power, and looked for all the world like he was going to be something really special when he was coming up. As we all know, it didn't happen, although he and Quiroga did produce a truly special fight in his last in-ring performance.

Jeff Lacy-I thought he was going to be the next Tyson.

Tyrell Biggs-He actually won the first round of his fight against Tyson, I would say he helped put together the blue print for Buster Douglass.

Rubin Williams-He was being hyped as the next champion out of Detroit.

Motorcycle accident, Summer of 1988. He was a Philly cruiserweight. I saw him fight on ESPN. With his droopy eyelids and rangy style he reminded me of a giant version of Sandy Saddler. His silent but deadly affect was definitely reminiscent of Saddler or Bob Foster. Check out his pic:

Jemal Hinton was a Kronk boy and looked to be a real comer.

And I almost forgot to mention Lamar Parks. Until HIV sidetracked him I thought that he, Roy Jones, Gerald McClelland and Bernard Hopkins were going to make for a blistering decade in the 160 lb division.

    Jose 'The Threat' Baret.

Madison Square Garden was pushing this hard-hitting Welterweight as the
    next Pipino Cuevas.

I've only really gone crazy on 3 unproven fighters......Camacho, J.Taylor and Donaire.

The first 2 never really came to fruition though neither were embarrassing. I've still got really high hopes for Donaire!!!

Warned everyone about Dawson not being great. Look for Alvarez to end up being a bitter let down as well.

Mike Williams. Beating Mike Tyson up in a sparring session was good enough back then to garner you a rep as a up and comer. Plus he had an amazing physique and looked mean as hell.
