Tyson would have won. Bowe was the more shot out of the pair,by this time.

More shot of teh pair??? :think:think
Tyson was PRIME in 1995 And 1996 - BUT Bowe was past-Prime in 1995 And Shot in 1996.

1995 IMO Bowe wins, he v.tough And survives teh 1st 5Rounds,, Tyson gasses-out, BOWE KO Tyson in Round 9.

In 1996 Tyson wins, Bowe was bloody Shot-as-**** in 1996 - Tyson TKO5.

Bowe was in horrible shape in 96. I dont know that his chin would have him stand up to Tyson. I think the Bowe that beat Gonzalez (1995), probably beats Tyson in 96 rather easily.

Bowe gets hit too much, Tyson would have a field day with his loaded up hayemakers....either that or he runs out of gas and Bowe takes over.....would have been a cracking fight though.

I think BOTH men were past their respective bests by the mid 90's. Tyson was over 30, and had lost years of his career, due to a jail sentence, not to mention, never looked the same after the departure of Kevin Rooney. Riddick, on the other hand had seemed to lose his motivation for training and if memory serves, no longer had Eddie Futch in his corner. It might have been interesting to see if Bowe's mentality and level of preparation might have been boosted with a shot against Tyson, but I can only speculate.

Tyson still had plenty of power in both hands, and certainly looked formidable in easily dispatching Frank Bruno who had just defeated McCall... Bowe as mentioned, was declining, but still making short work of some respectable men who were undefeated. The Golata fight would suggest that he was vulnerable, but I don't know if things would unfold the same way against Tyson.. Golata was a big man at 6'4", who threw straight jabs through the defense of Bowe, and among other things, resorted to low blows. I can see Mike attacking the body, and using punches that were more hooking and crossing in nature, which Riddick had a better tendency to block and counter against. Bowe was also very good at imposing his physical advantages over smaller, older opponents... He might not have gotten away with this against Golata, but against Tyson, it might have been a different ball game..

Not sure who I'd pick, given the time frames provided, but I don't think its clear cut either way.
