I've been watching lots of Bernard Hopkins's fights and his defense and overall ring generalship is amazing. However, I'd like to know which fight of his showcases his skills to the fullest. What was Bernard Hopkins's best performance?

I would say he was at his peak offensively in the Glen Johnson fight.
Past his physical peak but on top of his technical in the Trinidad fight.
The Pavlik fight was also a amazing showcase of his skills at an advanced age.

Pavlik was young and all yeah ok, but B.Hop's performance aganist Trinidad as been the best display of boxing I have ever seen. That along with Mayweather/Corrales. No one has ever dominated those fighters like PBF/B.Hop. Not to mention that Corrales/Tito were at the top of their game.

Against Calzaghe, a great piece of acting that rivals that of the greatest thespians of our time.

tito or pavlik, choose the pavlik fight because he was the under dog and no one expected him to win.

i think his calzaghe performance was underrated

he did well to shut calzaghe down whilst doing everything he could to not get into exchanges with him and upset his rhythm
b hop is smart as ****, even when he went down in round 10 after low blow, calzaghe's rhythm was ****ed and he started beating on calzaghe again with the only round i had b hop winning after round 6

had he got into exchanges calzaghe would have found rhythm and would have been unstoppable, like he had been his whole career
the whole time he was just sapping calzaghe's wanting to fight, in the position he was in calzaghe was just hoping he would get him in the next round til like 9 rounds had gone and enzo started going crazy and got joe doing enough to win in the judges eyes

but his best performance was against tito, he was incredible that night and pavlik was a great win aswell

this is the only post you need ever read about the career of bernard hopkins. the following is irrefutable scientific fact :deal

here is bernard hopkins best 6 wins broken down, take away the smoke and mirrors, the hbo and ring magzaine brainwashing and this is what your left with

    trinidad
    prime weight = welterweight (147)
fought hopkins at middleweight (159)
trinidads record at middleweight or above from hopkins onwards = 2 wins / 3 defeats

    winky wright
prime weight - light middleweight (154)
fought hopkins at - 170 lbs
in 57 fights, the hopkins fight was the only fight that wright had weighed over 160 lbs (a full 10lbs difference) :rofl

    de la hoya
    prime weight - welterweight (147lbs)
fought hopkins at - middleweight (160lbs)
de la hoya only fought twice in his career at middleweight out of 45 fights -1 win / 1 loss - the win was a very debatable decision over eurobum felix sturm

    pavlik
prime weight - middleweight (160 lbs)
fought hopkins at - 170 lbs
in 34 fights pavlik had only fought 2 minnions at the beginning of his career at 169. all pavliks fights since hopkins have been at the 160 limit.

    tarver
    prime weight 175
great 2 weight jump from hopkins and his best win despite tarver being a b-level fighter and going 3 wins / 3 losses from hopkins onwards.

    johnson
prime weight -super mid / light heavy (162 to 175)
fought hopkins at - middleweight (160)
    johnsons record at 160 + from hopkins onwards - 19 wins / 14 defeats / 2 draws
the defeats have come against people of the level of ottke, woods, shieka, gonzales, harmon, branco, vanderpool, Kiwanuka, sosa :rofl

then throw in hopkins 4 defeats to the only top class fighters he ever fought at a fair weight (jones, calzaghe, and taylor twice) and you get a true reflection of the career of bernard hopkins :deal
