Here's an important question: does 'having' their jabs also involve having some of the flaws they manifested as they threw them, i.e., if you have Ali's jab, do you tend to drop your right as you throw it? If you have Holmes's, is your head a bit static, are susceptible to a counter right when the jab is slipped?

my thought when starting this thread was the strengths AND weaknesses that were inherent to the jab itself

for instance ali's had speed but little power, liston's had power but demanded committment. technical flaws in the fighter's that threw them could be forgiven and forgotten in this analysis unless they were aspects of the jabs themselves

so that was a longwinded way of saying: no. you get the jabs but not the flaws that manifested in using them

I'd go with Holmes. It was powerful enough to where he could walk you down and hurt you with it, he could use it to keep you off of him and build up points, and he could use it to simply bust you up.

It was fast, hard, and very accurate. He could win a fight soley with his jab.

Liston's jab. Without Ali's footwork his armpunching jab wouldn't do much good.
