Ward makes me think that Abraham's not even going to land a punch....in Oakland, Helsinki, or on the moon.

Abraham is going to have ALL KINDS of problems with Ward. I doubt he'll land many unless Ward tries to showboat or something which doesn't seem his style.

On this week's 102nd episode of On the Ropes Boxing Radio....

On criticisms he gets from some fans that his last few fights have been in his home town:

“At the end of the day they can say, whomever the detractors may be, what they want to say about me fighting at home. If they get the list of some other guys that fight at home exclusively then my four fights at home won’t even match up against some of the other guys, so I just think they need live well enough alone and let it be what it is now. If there’s clear injustice taking place every time I fight at home, if there’s some kind of foul play going on where guys are getting cheated I can understand an uproar, but I think I’ve earned the right to fight at home and I don’t think the judges, or the referees, or anybody else has played a role in my fights in terms of helping me win. So at the end of the day that’s just something that they’re writing about. It’s unfortunate, but I’m going to continue to do what I do and every opportunity I get to fight at home I’m going to fight at home.”

I DOn'T care what he says about other boxers that have longer records fighting at home, this guy is delusional. He's fighting in the S6 with fighters thst have reached same or even a higher level than him and he's being disrespectful 2 them... this guy is a complete a.hole... What boxing needs is real warriors, not li'l ***s like him & Dirrell!

Why can't they just make the semis one big card in Vegas with Johnson-Froch on it as well.

    Therefore everyone would be happy.

Ward can't help it! Oakland is the only places that allows promoter to match billy goats with prize fighters.

I am a huge ward fan.

I don't support his statement though. He needs to travel and finish out the s6 like a man. When it is over and he holds whatever title has has, think wba, he can then decide what he wants to do.

    :good

Beating Froch in Las Vegas (or even the UK if he's feeling especially bold) and then Bute in Montreal will have earned him the right to stay in Oakland the rest of his career.

One of the things I find odd is that Ward is getting criticized because his team was competent enough to get him a better deal at the bargaining table.

Why exactly should he apologize for that?

He outclassed Kessler, he thoroughly dominated Green, and he ultimately figured Bika out and clearly beat him, too.

Home field advantage can have it's benefits, but in the case of Ward, it doesn't matter where on this planet those fights took place--he is simply better than Kessler, better than Green, and better than Bika.
