    A very interesting fight possibility.
    Many if's,,,,,,,,,,

If Davey beat Carlos Palomino, could this fight have happened?

Today, with so many weight classes and fighters jumping up and down or up and up in the case of Manny Pacquiao, it seems a logical thing to ask. However, back in the day fighters stuck to their own divisions and there was never any call for Green-Hope.

green started of as a light welter and then moved to welter he really only moved to light-middle in the twilight of his career and looked small at the weight and did not have the same power or intensity at the weight so for me this is a mismatch in so much as green was very much on the downside of his career and would be retired in his corner by andy smith by the 6th round

    This :deal

I love Dave, but this would've been kind of like Curry facing Terry Norris. I think Dave woud've lasted more then 6 mind and it would've been competitive while it lasted, especially around the time Hope fought Benitez, but Green was done by then anyway and the move up in weight would not be a good look. Far better fantasy match-ups with Green out there.

yeah green could of lasted the distance probably if a twelve rounder but andy smith really looked after dave and would of pulled him out when it became obvious that hope would be the bigger better fighter and dave could not hurt him, remember how quick smith was to pull dave out of the reggie ford fight
