Brilliantly sidestepping the fact that Kessler when he was the champ went to Wards hometown to defend his belt aren't you? Also conveniently ignoring the fact that Froch defended his world title in Denmark?

It's about being fair towards the other contestants who all have fought away from home.

Ward hasn't earned the right to fight Abraham at home. Not by a longshot.

    Can I point something out?

Lets examine the first three fights of the Super 6 and where they were:

    Taylor versus Abraham -- Germany

    Froch versus Dirrell -- Nottingham

    Kessler versus Ward -- Oakland

It seems to me that the reason Kessler fought in Oakland is because the other two Americans fought away and it would be unseemly if all three European fighters fought at home.

Wards' second fight: Allan Green. In Oakland. Sorry, but Allan Green was late entry with zero following.

So, we're left with a complaint that Ward fought Kessler in Oakland.

Suppose it had been otherwise. Suppose Ward, Dirrell, and Taylor had all fought in Europe for the first round of the Super 6.

Would that seem right to you? (No doubt it would because the "Ward-deniers" are not the most rational bunch)

So long as Taylor , Dirrel and Ward all got their next fights in the US then yes it would have been perfectly fair

But I guess a Ward apologist cant get his head round: 1 fight away , 1 fight at home , 1 fight away , 1 fight at home etc etc .....

Suppose you stop making up your own rules and acknowledge the fact that Europe is not a country.

For Froch it is absolutely the same to have a fight in Helsinki, Herning or in Oakland. Those are all away fights.

If Say Abraham fought Ward in London it would be a neutral venue because his fans are Germans not Brits.

    Ward - Abraham in Germany

    Froch - Johnson in U.S

    Seems right to me....

    Lets get the facts correct.

Froch fought in Nottingham. That is home. Froch lives in England, Nottingham is in England.

Abraham fought in Germany. That is home. Abraham lives in Germany.

    Lets be clear on that.

OK. So, if Kessler had fought in Denamrk, then all three Euro fighters would have fought at home in the first fight.

    Why would this be unfair?

Because a boxer could get KTFO in the first fight and never return.

    Oh, isn't that far-fetched, though!?

    Jermain Taylor.

Jermain Taylor. Fights in Germany. KTFO. THE END.

Jermain Taylor gets no home fight. His career is over.

See why it would be unseemly if all European fighters got the first fight at home?

As it is, 2 out of 3 European fighters got their first fight at home. Sounds like a good deal to me, and yet the extraordinary amount of whining persists. The whining is deafening. It hurts my ears. It's sounds like the 17 year return of cicadas, the high frequency shrieking, the sobbing, the wailing and weeping, and cries of foul, the cries of pain and the suffering and agony!

That some tasty homecookin alright !

For me , whats happened when they were on their way up is irrelevant . relative fighters drawing power is almost irrelevant. This was supposed to be a fair and open Tourney to decide the best 168er. If one of the enterants is getting home advantage all the way then simply put its cheating !

I agree with you there 100%.

But since Showtime makes the rules, and the rules seem to say that the semi-finals and finals will be in Vegas, that we will not get our wish.

So you'd be satisfied if Andre Ward had fought Allan Green in Oklahoma (his home state)?

Because that's what this comes down to. It comes down to Ward facing Allan Green in Oakland instead of Oklahoma.

Listen up you dimwitted ****. Europe is not a country and boxing is not a team sport.

Kessler fought his first fight in Oakland (an away fight), his second in Denmark (home fight), Froch fought his first fight in Nottingham (home fight), second fight in Denmark (an away fight), his third in Helsinki (an away fight), Abraham fought his first fight in Berling (home fight), second fight in Detroit (an away fight), and his third in Helsinki (an away fight), Ward fought his first in Oakland (home fight), his second in Oakland (home fight), his third in Oakland (home fight). So now it is fair that Ward gets to fight Abraham in Oakland??

Four straight fights at home! Daim can you say Svenn Ottke!!??!!

even thats no biggie , it is an advantage to Ward but if it was agreed that the semis and finals are in Vegas then so be it

its the fact Ward not only sees no problem with him being protected , he actualyy thinks he deserves and a ( thankfully small ) minority are agreeing with him , thats what bull**** !
