Are you being for real? You are comparing Lopez with Juan Manuel Marquez at this point in time in terms of deserving to fight Pac? Considering JMM is ranked top 4 p4p by most everyone, and is one weightclass seperated from Pac, and the clear number one AT the weight, with unfinished buisness to attend to between these two and with fans actively calling for the fight.... The bringing up of JML is ubsurd. Whats sad though is that Lopez's win over Marquez is better then anything Mosley has done for almost the last two years. Come on Danger, dont ask me 'yet he will give pac trouble at 147'?, as Ive never once called for their fight to be anything above 140, and have continually said if its above 140 there is no point. When you are a 130/135lber, there is a huge differnce between fighting at 140, and 147. At 140? JMM has as good a shot as he will get to make it a competetive fight. I for one dont think it matters if its at 135 or 140, I think Pac dominates him eather way. But its not about that, its about making the fight between two top 5 p4p guys. The number one guy at 135 and the guy who was number one at 140 not so long ago, and two guys who have unfinished buisness, and a fight that the fans are asking for. Another stupid comparison, I dont even have to point out why on this one. I dont care about ppv numbers as far as this subject is concerned. I care about matchups between p4p fighters, fighters that deserve chances or fighters that are number one in their divisions. PPV numbers are ok statistics, but they dont decide what fight I want to see.
That's just it, JMM doesnt really deserve a chance. He got embarrassed by Floyd and got sent back down to 135. Of all the fights he could have taken at 140 or 147, he chose to fight Katsidis at 135...which is a decent LW fight. You are targeting the JWW, WW, JMW champ, you don't try make noise at LW because you think the JWW's are too big. Nacho pulled JMM out of the Khan fight at 140 because he though Khan would just use him as a stepping stone. This is what irks me, JMM isnt good enough for Khan acording to JMM's team, they have made no effort to show they can compete above 135...yet he deserves a fight with possibly the best JWW/WW/JMW out there. I mean its so simple, c'mon, you are targeting someone who is currently competing at 147, you have the opportunity to to make noise at 140/147 but chooses instead to fight a gatekeeper at 135 and expects to get a huge fight at 140/147? This would be like Pavlik jumping up to LHW, get destroyed there, drop back to MW, have the opportunity to fight any top SMW, yet chooses to stay at MW because he thinks SMW/LHW are too big. Meanwhile after beating a MW thinks he deserves to fight the LHW champ...
So who are you backing Pac to fight then? If not JMM, who exactly? And - Pac is not a the jr middle 'champ', a meaningless trinket doesnt change that.
Marquez = any decent price will do. Even slightly less than PBF fight. Beating Pac is his priority. Pac/ Roach = same as above. Wants to STFU Nacho and Marquez. GBP = wants to high price Marquez so he cannot get a non-GBP promoted fight. But if TR accepts it, they get more money. Win win. TR = f@ck you GBP. Marquez can't sell tickets to his neighbor. Old man Mosley can at least convince his own family to attend his fight. Pac vs PBF = will not happen
yeah, but pac's last two fights, those guys deserved the fights...a guy who has never won a big fight in his life, and a guy who was caught cheating, then KTFO, then looked awful against a C level fighter...yeah he deserved a record payday fight with pac and a shot at a vacant title, but JMM...what has he ever done?
This is bull. Marquez is asking for the same amount or a little bit less than what he made against Floyd, which is less than what Margarito made and it is too much for Arum. he's pretty much saying Floyd is the bigger draw and his fights generate more money
Two years ago anybody who thinks pac can dominate the WW div must be ****in looney...so at that time it's crazy to have pac fight mosley Let's not forget mosley still has a huge american fanbase and can bring so much money to the table. marquez? GTFOH It's almost always about $$$$$$$$
atsch Really, just wondering has Marquez even tried to establish himself at 140lb by fighting Bradley, Kahn or Alexander??? ****ing stupid question if I've ever read one... :bart
When you are number one at your weight, and a top 4 p4p fighter in the world, and a guy who many consider to have an unofficial win over pac (I am not one of them btw), you are allowed certain things in the sport. And there is nothing wrong with JMM fighting Pac at 140 without having to fight anyone else at the weight. Some of those very reasons is why Pac actually got to fight Hoya in the first place, when he had only had one fight above 130lbs at the time, and never had fought at 140 or 147.
FOR THOSE ROOTING FOR PACQUIAO-MARQUEZ FIGHT: How much paid attendance watch the Marquez-Katsidis fight last week? Is this enough for Marquez to overprice himself? This content is protected This content is protected
If JMM realy thinks he can beat PAC then less then 4 million is nothing cause he'll be rolling money if he wins. This reminds me of the time they turned down 700k for the re-match after the first fight. JMM went on to lose to John for 30k and Pac went on to make history and millions.
At the end of the day, this is true. And JMM better be prepared to take half of what he wants from a Pac fight, if he really wants this fight. (2.5 mill is nothing to scoff at, but what is more is hed be getting his much craved rubber match)
What exactly has Margarito ever done to establish himself at 154? If you want to say pac took that fight simply for the title, then why can't he take the Marquez fight to finally beat Marquez decisively?
atsch Does Marquez have a following? 5,000 people watched him TKO Kasidis. Did Pacquiao get more than what he was worth? No... Schaerfer, you and your fellow insta Marquez fans HAVE NO LEGS to STAND ON!!! This content is protected This content is protected
