You save the life of a russian oil tycoon who puts you in his will as the sole heir but miraculously dies the next day. after being cleared of all possible charges you decide not to buy a premiership football team, but invest in boxing.

    what do you do??

Buy the WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO and turn them into just one body.

Take all world title fights to Russia

    :think Hmm sounds like Russia..

Nah racism aside, I'd actually really like this to happen. As a now foolish billionaire, I'd get in contact with Floyd and Manny AND Wlad and Haye with a massive offer for them to fight in February of next year. I don't care where they're held.. put them in Qatar if they wanna cough up some of the money.

Then as a long term project, I'd look to buy out one of the apparently respected, so called governing bodies and then run them properly. By having proper rankings and deserved mandatories. I'd only have 9 weight divisions as well.

A fight between the two best fighters in each division should suffice.

    **** the titles.

I'd pay Audley to never fight or talk ever again.

Sponsor a new, improved world title called the "Platinum Belt" for champions who are a bit better than the Diamond champions.

If I have Abramovich's money there'd be a hell of a lot more better things I'd spend it on than boxing!

Set up a fund for fighters injured in bouts/sparring and donate a substantial amount then allow it to build through fans donations aswell as fighters and promoters donations. Also within that link the fund/organization to UK sport and create a number of coaching courses/business courses for fighters who leave the sport. Give them the chance to gain access to quality courses and allow them to build a CV.

*if i could do on world wide scale then great..not just protecting British fighters..there all our fighters*

The belts and all that stuff goes over my head, i doubt even a big sugar daddy could help give us what we want. As long as the best fight the best i'm happy.

i think you will find thats allot to do with health issues.

i would put on at the York Hall.

    Pacquiao vs Mayweather
    Haye vs Klitscko
    Gamboa vs Lopez
    Groves vs DeGale

That unfortunate for Abramovic, has his life saved and dies the next day. I'd give the money to his family and keep €500 so I can get a JETSKI origional.

It's very little to do with health reasons. The main reason is that 17 weight divisions diminishes the quality at the top end of each division and it's easier for boxers to make a living and succeed. The same as all the governing bodies.

The weight divisions at the moment are almost pointless anyway with the jumping up and down that every fighter does. Margarito's last fight was at a 150 catchweight, yet he goes into the ring weighing about 168 anyway.

not doubting it lowers the quality but its a fact since they introduced 24 hour weigh ins and more weight divisions the number of fatalities and serious injuries has gone down.
