Before he fought Sanders, he was in his athletic prime, had the biggest win of his career, was being hyped up by all the networks as the next major heavyweight and HBO was fully behind him. Then he got knocked out. Fought some nobodies, got knocked the **** out again, and then adopted a I'm SCARED AS **** approach, almost got knocked out against stupid ass Peter, and now is fighting a guy with only 14 fights. He has been banned from HBO and I'm not sure, but I don't even think he's allowed in the US due to his performance against Ibriginov. But this brings me to the question.......why didn't he just rematch Sanders and then maybe he would be allowed back on HBO. Was he afraid that he would just get the **** beat out of him again because he was in his athletic prime when he fought him?
He was in his atheletic prime? Oh cmon.. Now he is in his athetic prime! And who should Wlad fight? U cant get better opponent than Chisora cause there is so much guys who are not willin' to fight Wlad. And rematch against Sanders? I don't know why it was so important to you cause Sanders got bigger fight against V.Klitschko and Wladimir was still young and he just fought couple of comeback fights before getting back to real work. And now after all he is IMO one of the greatest champs ever in HWeights. Yes division sucks but it is hard to see how somebody could win Klitschko and his robotic style.
Didn't it have a lot to do with he didn't deserve an immediate rematch against Sanders and that Sanders really didn't have the heart to carry on after the Wlad fight. So he couldn't have fought Sanders because Sanders was happy playing golf and being a genuinely nice chap after putting in a half hearted performance against Vitali?
NOT THIS AGAIN!!!!! You made same shity thread few month ago.... bad memory? It was Sanders who refused a rematch.
I'm guessing Sanders did not want a rematch. What about the first match makes you think there should have been a rematch? It was pretty decisive and Sanders kicked Wlad's ass. Sanders rematching Wlad would be like Tyson rematching McNeely. By the time Wlad worked his way back up, Sanders was back to retirement.
Yeah but he was also happy doing that before he put in his half hearted performance against WALDO. Difference being VITLAY got up off the canvas when he got clocked, WALDO went into "helicopter with broken rotor" mode when his glass got shattered. God help either of them had Sanders been fit and prime :deal
Fail, Sanders vacated the belt and fought Vitali for more money. Wow, I can't believe you don't know about that? Probably because you just turned 16 years old?
He got his big moment though. He achieved a great feat and defeated the heir to Lewis. Lennox phoned him up and gave him advice on how to defeat Wlad and told Sanders he could do it. Was the fire really there for a second time once Wlad had built himself back up to perhaps gain revenge? I don't blame Sanders for shooting a few rounds rather than be tempted back for a rematch it must have been damn hard to build yourself up for if you've already shocked the boxing world?
I bet Wlad and Corrie would be great friends if they met today.Corrie won his greatest challenge and has a fight to remember and talk about the rest of his life.In return,Corrie taught Wlad how to fight like a champion. With Wlads great heart and his lessons learned,Wlad has become one of the most dominating, and greatest heavyweights of all time.
The fire wasn't even there the first time round, and Sanders still shattered the china. Of course the fire wouldn't be there 2nd time round, it didn't need to be either - he'd already embarrassed the **** out of the guy in his prime, why do it again? Of course we had Klit ***** contracts in those days too so Sanders ended up fighting the brother after he'd sparked WALDO. Doesn't matter though, history will remember the fact that WALDO in his prime has an unavenged loss against a fat, middle aged golfer who even in his prime wasn't good enough to even earn a title shot :deal
Yeah, he beat the **** out of Wlad, and then....Big Brother beats the **** outta him . Your annoying dude. You know damn well that wasn't Wlad's prime. He might have been billed as the BIG THING or the NEXT BIG THING, but obviously he wasn't ready. He'd gas the hell out after 4 rounds! After his few defeats (that were good for him) look what he's become. Granted, he uses his height a little to much, and isn't aggressive enough sometimes, but nobody comes close to beating him these days. Vitali is of course the better brother IMO, and the more exciting brother. Stop bullshitting though about his prime, and rematches. Like I said he beat the **** outta Wlad (great job), but after Vitali beat him the dude ran for the hills.
