    Score-card

    1 - Kessler
    2 - Kessler
    3 - Kessler
    4 - Froch
    5 - Froch
    6 - Froch
    7 - Kessler
    8 - Kessler
    9 - Froch
    10 - Kessler
    11 - Kessler
    12 - Froch

Rounds 3, 6, 9 and 12 were all very close.

    General thoughts
Both men were effective with the jab. Kessler was at a disadvantage in this department due to Froch's freak-arms, but his superior speed and timing saw him, in my opinion, winning the battle of the jabs for the most part.

Kessler's straighter punches early on beat Froch's wider punches several times.

Kessler had a lot of success slipping Froch's straight punches, and showed improved head movement until fatigue started to set in later in the fight.

Kessler worked the body beautifully in this fight with jabs and straight rights.

Carl Froch is very good at judging and maintaining distance.

Both guys showed great chins. Kessler took just about the hardest right-hand Froch could throw in the 5th round and hardly missed a beat. Froch was hurt bad in the 8th, but displayed exceptional powers of recuperation. They both also showed a lot of mental fortitude. Especially Kessler considering the circumstances.

Even though the 12th was close, I thought Froch finished stronger and may well have won over a 15 round distance.

Carl Froch is such a ****ing doofus. From time to time he'd be sashaying around the ring with that ****-eating ******-grin on his face with his arms by his knees and wind up eating a clean shot. I found this immensely satisfying. Still, he's a good fighter and to be honest his hands-low style works for him most of the time.

A damn good fight, but too sloppy with too much missing and too many punches landing on gloves and arms to be considered FOTY.

It was a close fight, but I felt Kessler won it pretty clearly. He was more consistent with his jab and power shots to the body. Froch had shorter bursts of more dramatic success. If the fight had been held in Nottingham, Kessler would have been robbed. As it was held in Denmark, the scores were a bit skewed, but the right man got the nod.

There weren't enough really clean punches being landed for me. Marquez-Katsidis beats this fight hands down, IMO.

I have watched this fight quite a few times i thought Kessler did excellent at coming on strong at the end of the rounds catching the judges eye, this is a fact, but i scored it alot closer than that especially the last rounds... I dont agree with your scoring on last 4 rounds

I scored it 7-5 to Froch, but a draw or narrow win for Kessler is fine by me. 117-111 from Tilleman was a ****ing joke.

I'd also like to add considering the documented problems both had leading upto the fight it was a great fight.

I have it as my fight of the year. The stakes were high and the number of bombs both guys landed was amazing.

What sets it apart from JMM/Katsidis for me was the down to the wire drama. We all figuted JMM would take Katsidis out late, but from the time the fight was signed until the final bell nobody knew who would win the Kessler/Froch battle.

I think the last round won the fight for Kessler. He came out like a champ. Froch came out like a challenger.

This is my take on this fight.

Tilleman was blatantly installed by sauderland.

It was a really good, close fight. I think Froch could have won it, because he was far too lazy in some rounds, but I don't take anything away from Kessler. He fought like a warrior and I was pleased that he got a world title back. If a rematch happens, I'd love to see it live.

It's one of those fights where you don't mind either guy winning. I like both fighters, I think it was close and both men fought very proud. Everything you could want in a fight.
