Why does BOXREC lists Mayweather as #1 lb4lb instead of Pacquiao?

Boxrec does not easily get swayed by bandwagons and hypes. With the flags being displayed beside the fighters name to show neutrality, Boxrec in my opinion is one of the last UNBIASED sources of fair boxing news and ratings.

It works on some sort of points based system I believe. Archie Moore is rated as the Greatest Fighter of All Time for instance because he has a great win/loss ratio and shitload of knockouts.

Probably because they believe Mayweather to be the best. Lots of others agree. I think Pac is the most exciting fighter around, but Mayweathers the best IMO.

The Ring's rating although not perfect are much better in my opinion.

Hopkins at number 4?! Dirrell above Ward and Froch? Martinez as low as 6?

Boxrec has it's own rankings, like other boxing sites

Its totally based on a points system . Points for winning , points per rounds won , points for KOs. More points if your opponent has a lot of points in the bag. Its not very accurate but usually is roughly ok .

Boxrec rates career achievements not recent years. In all Mayweather seems to have achieved more by beating more accomplished fighters and not losing.

Boxrec is good for one thing only. A historical record of who fought who, when, for what titles, and what the result was.

Everything else about the site is ****. From what I can gather, the owner is a bit of a ****, and plays favourites a lot.

Another example of how wrong their rankings are: Bernard Hopkins is #4. Sorry, but not for a few years now has that been the case.
