To tell the truth I don´t know that much about Starosch at all other than that he was a decent demestic level/lower European level contender that hang in too long.

Every figher on your list is special Burt, no doubt. Eleven though, eh? What if you had to flesh it out to twenty? Here's my 11 right now...

Charley Burley. Perfect blend of efficiency, speed and power and his story is fantastic. Also a gentleman, a real class act

Joe Louis. Another perfect blend, same vintage as Burley. Maybe still my favourite fighter to watch. The thing about Louis was, you knew he was this great thing when you got involved in boxing, his reputation, but he's maybe the only guy i've come to know who is better than his enormous reputation.

James Toney. Really enjoyed the original run and been getting back into him lately.

Roman Gonzalez. Superb and precise box-pressure fighter, the minimumweight champion of the world. Great style to watch, grinding without ever being ungainly or dull. Plus. Look at his little face!

    Sam Langford. GOAT.

Joe Frazier. Just for that bit in the FOTC where he nods at Ali and points at the spot right in front of him, smiling, when Ali is playing to the crowd would be enough to get him in I bet

Israel Vasquez. Not great, but his career set is absolutely astonishing, all brilliant fights. Doesn't get nearly enough love.

    Harold Johnson. Does it right

    Orlando Canizales. As above.

    Micheal Watson. And again!

M,never saw Charley Burley fight..As posted before as a lad,my dad,
[hey that rhymes],asked me to go with him to St nicholas Arena,to see
a prelim boxer he was interested in..I refused... He went by himself,
came home after the bouts and RAVED about the main event in which
a Charley Burley flattened his opponent in one round. Burley, I later found out,was so avoided after that bout ,that he never fought in NY again.
My error...As J.B. Shaw said,"It is a pity that youth is wasted on the young ".
    I loved Israel Vasquez..What a warrior ! What a left hook ! Alas,What a bleeder !
I must mention Mathew Saad, who was as COURAGEOUS a fighter that
    I have ever seen,anywhere..A TRUE WARRIOR !
And finally . Willie Pep,"the Will of thev Wisp ",who I saw before his near fatal
Plane crash at MSG..He was so ELUSIVE, that I almost forgot him !
One last fighter, who was a real WAR HERO in Guadalcanal, and as brave
and tough in the Ring. BARNEY ROSS...I as a youngster saw him at a social ,grey haired and at the bar drinking alone..I was too awed to go over to him and speak to Ross..What a life he lived...Keep punchin ...

Wilfredo Gomez - Special fighter; sharp, fantastic defensively (at least when he wanted to be), hard puncher (understatement), and mean as hell. Very entertaining to watch. Love his style.

    Joe Louis
    - It goes without saying, but his explosive combinations and timing. One of my favorite things to watch is him against Simon II... He keeps slipping the jab to the inside and whipping in a sharp left hook-right hand combination and he does it repeatedly... He never gets old...

    Ezzard Charles
    - Special fighter, just a pleasure to watch. Real good man outside the ring, as well (from what I've read).

Joe Frazier - My man. As Larry Merchant put it: "The Truth Machine"... If there was anything about you that remained in question, Joe would find it out. The epitome of heart, pride, and integrity in the ring.

Roberto Duran - Ferocity. A born fighter. Underrated skill (by some, and meaning defensively, mainly) and subtle skills as well. One of the best all-around fighters in my opinion.

Felix Trinidad - I have very fond memories of having housefulls of people for most of his big fights. Explosive puncher who I didn't always pick to win. He seemed to always to impress me.

Pernell Whitaker - Always impresses with overall skill. Not much explaining necessary-

Julian Jackson - The hardest puncher ever, pound for pound, in my opinion. Always gave his best. The definition of living by the sword and dying by the sword. He never lost a decision. He came to knock you out or leave on his shield. Ultimate respect due here.
