If this was a British poll, it would be very lopsided to Joe. I think that's one of the reasons Carl, used to be obsessed with him.

Calzaghe right now but if Froch can clean up & beat Bute, Ward, etc. a case could be made for him.

Still, gotta go with Joe as it sits.

Exactly right! On the Brit forum Joe C would be like 80%.

Froch is my favourite current fighter, but I still hold Joey in higher regard

    Froch, no question.

EDIT: I mean, I respect Froch more, he tests himself always going on a pretty arduous run his last several fights. I hold Calzaghe in higher regard as a fighter, but I'm hoping Froch's legacy surpasses him.

I'm more interested in who the Brits respect more out of the two.

    Calzaghe is mildly underrated.

    ^This.
But Carl's "Sack" is bigger than Joe's ever was, Which gives him the edge now.
(I wonder IF anything can brig Calz out of retirement?)

It would still make a boatload of $...

the name Calzaghe sounds familiar, or maybe I'm just thinking of a calzone. really can't say much about Froch either, ...these are both names I only hear often at ESB. sorry

Calzaghe for his boxing skills and speed and arrogance.

Froch for his heart and determination with his limited skillset. Add frochs strengths with JC's skills and you have a complete fighter.

    really like who?

best 3 wins : taylor, dirrell, pascal and AA

    joe's best: B-hop, Lacy, eubank/bika and Kessler

i reckon the fact that froch (whom i like) had to come from behind to beat a taylor that wasn't quite at his best and won a scrappy decision against dirrell pales in comparison to calzaghe's domination of a very well thought of and hotly tipped lacy and his comfortable win over kessler.Froch's wins over AA and pascal were fantastic but i think Joe's top wins have more clout and were more convincing

*American here... i like Cal..always have.. It's early for Froch, but he's looking good... unfortunatly, amercans like undefeated fighters... it'll always be Cal who's thought of as better.

I'm American and Joe C is the best SMW of all time. Killed the racist and the vastly overrated.

On the Brit forum, this wouldn't even be close.

(American of Mexican descent here): Right now I would have to say JC, but as someone mentioned earlier, CF can close the gap considerably if he fights and beats other big names. I think the thing that hurts JC more than anything is that he fought a "green" Jeff Lacy. But in all fairness, Lacy was being called the next Mike Tyson and JC manhandled him. It was virtually man against boy. You also have the Hopkins and Jones fight. He did fight them a little late in their careers, but he wasn't exactly a spring chicken himself when he fought those guys, so all in all they were good, but not great victories.

I do like Froch's all business attitude and I admire the fact that he may not be the most athletic, fastest, or most powerful boxer, but he more than makes up for it with mental toughness.

As of right now, IMO, JC>CF.
