What a terrible performance, how can such a promising boxer have become so bad?

Aye if his home town was some 1930s Italian mafia dominated town where no video cameras were allowed! utter joke.

it is pretty crazy that a couple of years ago he was considered to be one of the prospects in british boxing.

he needs some serious rebuilding and shouldn't look beyond the british scene right now

I think Tommy Gilmour should take part of blame when accepting a substantial amount but allowing a young promising fighter to go into Lions Den against a very very good domestic and probably world class fighter in Lindsay. I think it's left him a mentally scared fighter.

He should of held Paul back IMO, i think everything came so soon. He should of had more learning fights but was chucked into hard fights far to early. Espicially for a lad that really doesn't have a sublime skillset nor a plan B.

Tonight he should of adapted but obviously didn't because he couldn't. He should of stepped to Layrea from angles, stayed close and looked to punch out of clinches and trades. He didn't he just wanted to work on the outside where he clearly couldn't outbox the Accra fighter. I think to many voices in the corner doesn't help. There wasn't great advice either other then ''4's and 5's Paul''.

He hardly even tried to close the distance at all. Why would someone of his height stand outwith his own range but in his opponent's range? uttely baffling performance. One paced, naive and unimaginative.

I'd like to know why Powell was the one barking at Appleby. Terry McCormack is with Paul every week in Edinburgh. I'm not saying that's why Paul lost - he was too ragged and had Burns on his mind - but it ain't right.

You don't see Powell trying to take over from Nelson tonight.

When appleby said that he hadn't watched videos of his opponent when interviewed post fight. I thought to myself you didn't prepare like a champ. Its a case of a good prospect believing the hype.

The advice in the corner was awful.
