i think this would be a fantastic fight, i could just see both fighter standing head to head slugging it out....for all of 4 rounds when Abraham suddenly gets put unconsious...

but i do think that it would make a great fight

the thing is i can actually see this fight being plausible....if it wasnt for the S6.....lemieux who wants to make a name for himself, and abraham who is comming of a DQ and an embarasing loss to froch...

abraham who is a natural 160, and lemieux who can easily go uo to 168 if needed....so weight is no issue what so ever...

Not before 2012 IMO. AA's got unfinished business at 168 i.e. take a last lesson [from Ward] unless he makes a Dirrell of himself by breaching the S6 contract and pulling from his fight vs Ward. Then he'll try and go back down to MW; if successful, after a tune-up fight or two, would maybe try to face Lemieux for [whatever belt David goes after in 2011]. And that's 2012.

For prediction sake, and considering it's over a year out, Lemieux KO 3. :smoke

Abraham struggles, and struggles badly, against height and reach. Lemieux has neither.

yep, i like match making, and i think this fight would be phenominal no mater where it was held, whether in germany or montreal....but i think financially it would make better sense in montreal, sold out for sure...

idk if it will ever happen but this would be a cassic fight and maybe even ko of the year

this would be a fight for lemieux to prove he has the tools and not over hyped...

and for abraham it would be a chance to beat a fresh young unbeaten kid who is 25-0(24ko) and possibly a belt(depending when it would be held)

but above all it would be a great fight for the fans(kind fo like ward-gatti....but with a ko for sure)

True. But by 2012, I like to think David's defense will have improved a good deal... he'll get hit enough during his next 3-4 fights depending on who he faces after Rubio, and I believe that it'll force him to adjust - especially before AA. He's still learning, we haven't seen the final version of Lemieux lol... David 3.0 will know what to do to approach tall guys like PWill. :bbb

We don't know how good Lemeiux really is. All we know is that he is able to ko old and smaller Band c level opponents. Until I have seen anything to make me believe he can compete with the top 20 at 160 I would imagine AA would KO him later on in rounds 6-12

Ranked 3rd (WBC), 3rd (WBA), 11th (WBO) and 15th (IBF)... these people really don't know what they're talking about, or do they?

"Old and smaller" opponents? Come on... Ayala gave AA a good run (KO12) and had a 10" reach advantage, and Raines is a tall motherfvcker.

Actually what is stupid is hyping up a 21 year old and saying he would beat a former 160 world title holder who successfully defended 10 times and who is still close to his prime. And if that is not "ESB's logic" I don't know what is. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with Lemeiux or that he does not have potential. In fairness to the guy, he has indeed looked good knocking his opponents out. He can only beat what is put in front of him. But no top 20 opponent has been put in front of him and already people are claiming he would beat AA?

Again, Ayala was a legit top 20 at the time David beat his ass. Otherwise, why would AA have faced him in an IBF title defense? That was right after a draw vs Mora... not horrible.

If David ever fights AA, it won't be before 2012 and by that time, Anber will have worked on Lemieux's defense vs top opposition, which will render David a complete & very powerful MW. It's a long shot, granted, but my money's on Lemieux.
