Better resume Froch or Calzaghe???

Froch got beat by Kessler. Calzaghe beat Kessler. Calzaghe was undefeated. Froch resume looks good but Joe beat Lacey, Kessler, Hopkins, Roy Jones Junior, Eubank. Calzaghe has the better resume at present.

 

What could make carls resume better is that he has fought who he has fought, on the bounce.

Calzaghe done it over a decade, which is **** poor.

Calzaghe met Kessler at his peak and gave him his first loss.

Kessler beat Froch and some suggest Kessler wasn't the same fighter that took on Calzaghe after being easily defeated by Ward and having many injury problems last 5yrs.

No one Froch has fought would've given Calzaghe any problems.

I doubt Froch could beat Hopkins and RJJ at the time Calzaghe beat them both. (Even taking into consideration their ages).

Calzaghe would win 10 out 12 rds against Froch no problem.

Dreadful post. Your point about Kessler is plain old sophistry. Kessler was in better shape, looked better and fought better against Calzaghe early than he did against Froch. Plus he was undefeated, had unified the belts and was coming of a string of solid performances.

Lacy may have been a hype-job, but very few people were saying that before. If he was hype, Calzaghe exposed it and ruined him in the process.

You can't talk about Hopkins at that stage without mentioning Pavlik. Presumably you're saying that because it completely disproves your point. Hopkins wasn't prime, but he'd put together two solid wins over Tarver and Winky Wright before. It was a CLOSE decision, but Hopkins clearly lost. Holding and spoiling rarely win you favour with the judges. Hopkins may believe having three clear rounds earns him a fight, thankfully objective judges disagree.

Jones Jr was shot. Meaningless win.

Eubank was NOT shot. Shot fighters don't give the cruiserweight champion hell in their next two fights. He was somewhat faded, but had no trouble getting his shots off, could still move and was still able to match Calzaghe for many of the rounds.

Go watch these guys before applying your bull**** common knowledge.

For the record, I think Froch's resume is stronger but Calzaghe's win over Kessler is much better.

Froch is a great fighter but at the end of the day he can have an impressive resume as he wants but there is 1 thing you will always end up coming back to. Calzaghe beat Kessler. Kessler beat Froch. Joe will always have that over him.

 

Aside from the Kessler defeat though, Froch has an incredible resume and at the end of his career it will probably look far more impressive.

 

Calzaghe has the better record for now but Froch has had to do it the hard way. Its a shame nobody knows who Carl Froch is...
