    Floyd promised to defeat Corrales on behalf of all battered women, and then has gotten arrested on more than one occasion for domestic abuse.

    Corrales promised to defeat Floyd on behalf of all battered fathers, and then shoves his stepfather and acts like he wants to fight him, for stopping the fight. According to Al Bernstein, Chico never talked to him again (or hadn't at that point in time, which was a couple years later).

    I don't hold that against FLoyd. Back then Floyd was very much in love and his relationship with Ellerbe hadn't yet evolved into an open one. He'd not yet known the love of a woman and the frustrations that come with it. He would never say that today.
