Khan's day of test is at our door step, will he succeed or fail???

Massive KO for Khan. Really looking forward to seeing Amir destroy Maidana.

 

Where on earth do people get this idea of Khan going around laying on devastating KO's?

Everyone he's fought always says the same thing, he doesn't hit hard, he just happens to be able to deliver a huge amount of punches in a short space of time keeping you concussed or in some cases seeming to not be fighting back and in the end it's a TKO. The result is usually the same in that he wins the fight, but from that suddenly deciding that Khan is a KO machine like Valero is a jump of the imagination

 

I think khan will play it safe for 4 rounds but will get tagged a few times during that and keep us on the edge of our seats while he looks to hold through maidana's bombs. roach kicks his arse in the corner for getting carried away and trying to trade because khan is trying to prove a point to the haters,then in rounds 6,7,8 khan picks up the pace with a stunning jab and great foot work which will tire maidana and khan will win by tko in round 9.

 

Khan to win every round on route to a stoppage around 8 or 9.

 

Khan win by stoppage between 8-12. He needs to be careful as we all know Maidana is very heavy handed.

If Khan comes through this I think it will lay the Prescott ghost to rest once and for all. Hes come on a long way since then but the doubts must have always been in the back of his mind about whether he can get in the ring with another big puncher.

 

I think Maidana's pretty chinny. He's been turned into a monster because he beat Ortiz. People forget Ortiz was belting the **** out of him before he opted to trade with the bigger puncher and quit.

If Ortiz was to rematch Maidana - which I expect he will after he beats Peterson (stoppage, ninth round I think) - he'll knock him senseless. Khan will go on to face the Bradley-Alexander winner, then Ortiz will meet the winner of that.

But Maidana's too crude, too slow and lacking in the boxing IQ needed to set traps for Khan.

 

LOL, no traps needed for Khan, Maidana wins this fight by KO at some point.

Theres a reason Khan and Roach have avoided big punchers since the Prescott fight, they didn't even want this fight they wanted to fight the Lightweight Champion, Maidana forced this fight to happen or Khan would have had to vacate and look like a coward.

 

ive seen maidana box a few times,don't know why everyone thinks he is some kind of slow plodder,he looks pretty fast to me,not khan fast,becouse he loads up,but pretty fast.
if khan can keep away for 12 rounds and not get caught,he wins a UD,if khan gets caught,its good night vienna. simple really

 

In which case they could have kept avoiding him. Khan's a bigger star than Maidana - and Maidana's rep is based entirely off of beating Ortiz. Corley made him look plenty average in his last fight.

He's not slow enough that he can never land, but he throws wide punches and has poor reflexes. Khan's going to slice him up.

 

Fancy a few quid on Maidana rnds1-6@5/1 and rnds7-12@7/1. Reckon 8/1 on both fighters goin down is a good bet too. Not completly sold on Kahn yet. Needs a cple more decent wins at this level, and should win this but his supposed fragility makes it interesting. This is defo his biggest test yet.

 

The key for Khan is to use his footwork. Fight like he did in the kotelnik fight but use his jab more and sit down on his shots to deter maidana. Eventually through accumulation and accuracy he will force the stoppage probably knocking Maidana down a few times on the way to a stoppage.

As people mentioned Maidana is probably a bit chinny and whilst Khan isnt concussive if he is quick and accurate he can put him down

Khan by points. No way is he stopping Maidana. Khan doesnt punch hard enough to stop Maidana. Maidana will land at some point and its going to be real instresting when he does.
