Do you Agree Tyson was @ his PEAK VS Bummy Douglas??
    He was a Pure Small-Slugger, a poor-man's Midget-Foreman.
No stamina-wasting head-movement or fancy overated combos, just 20 MEGA-HAYMAKERS every round, every one aimed for teh head...Tyson at his v.BEST. :thumbsup

Tyson even said on SKY it was his BEST fight.:deal

I have not see teh fight you talking about, But i take it you Agree?? :thumbsup

He should've stuck with using his jab especially in the 90's when he became mostly wild. A prime Mike was sharper with his punches.

"Praise the lord Mike! Praise the Lord!"lol Tucker was good fun and eventually gave Lewis a good fight at his older age.

Tyson was 29 yrs old, 33/1 Betting-Fav in 1996 VS Old Vander, he was v.PRIME. :deal
And he looked his BEST-EVER in teh 1996 Bruno2-Fight IMO!!!

Prime Tucker was DESTROYED by green, skinny bean-pole Lenny Lewis.
He was BIGGER, HEAVIER, STRONGER And more Powerful then when he out-boxed Tyson 6 yrs earlier. Lewis FLOORED Tucker 2 times And he wasnt even trying, Tyson was DESPERATE for a KO And v.Frustrated - BUT couldnt hurt TNT ****er even one time!! :rofl:rofl

Tyson's jab was really good, but he was simply too short for a heavyweight to be very imposing with it or win rounds purely with just that. Still, it was very good. I've seen some sparring footage of the late 80's where he spars some skillful light-heavies of his height and he could do anything with the jab alone - also because it hurt them as much as a right hand.

    AGEED :thumbsup

TNT ****er prooved Midget Mike was too short when he out-boxed Tyson using his longer jab and better height.

Tyson had a very good jab.
Tyson had a load of good punches, he was a brilliant puncher.
That's the one thing no one should dispute - he threw wicked punches.

I think he's totally overrated as a boxer and as a fighter, but I have no doubts about his ability to throw a good punch. He was fast, he was powerful, and against the average heavyweight he was deadly accurate.
    His jab was proper.

for his height excellent. It was a set up jab for distance, not really offensive.

You dont think he used his jab to get close to his opponents and setup power shots? Of course he did.

I think you're saying the same thing as Mag1965.

Basically Tyson used his jab as a range finder to sent up his combinations with. That's not to take away the importance of it, cause it's an integral part of being able to make that happen, but he wasn't trying to KO anyone with his jab, nor was it particularly powerful, in relation to the other punches he threw.
