Nonito....over all both are equal in craft and skill but Nonito has physical advantages with height and reach PLUS he's working with more speed and power. The young lion is coming into his own both in his versitility and as a man. ND's style is more like the slick counter punching style that are mostly associated with African american boxers but Nonito is offensive minded which makes for exciting and explosive boxing. Montiel is a great technician similar to JMM...he's explosive and heavy handed for a small guy. He's definitly someone that ND has to respect b/c he does have more experience and his timing is very good. I actually think the outcome has as much to do with the physical as it does with style which is why I think Montiel get's KO'd.
I've seen Montiel fall to lesser fighters and even though he is a major threat, Donaire knows how to control the pace of any fight and does very well with smaller, aggressive fighters that like to come forward. Donaire by UD.
I'd like to say nonito stops montiel but montiel has the skills to match up with nonito. nonito beats montiel by UD.
montiel is a good but not hard rival for donaire. yonnhy perez or nehomar cermenho are the real deal!
Tough fight. I don't think it goes the distance. Both men are skilled heavy hitters. Donaire being more offense minded and Montiel defence first. I will go with Montiel in this one because he has a lot more experience fighting the top boxers.
i believe Donaire will take a L soon but i dunno if Montiel is the one to do it, he might look really small come fight night compared to Nonito.
