Kirk, I want to change my Pascal UD pick to Hopkins TKO.. and here's why: I'm still not that convinced by Pascal. He definately looks better up at 175 than he did when he fought Froch down at SMW - he seems a lot more muscular and punches with more authority. He basically got outmanned by Froch the Neanderthal in their fight and faded down the stretch. Looked good against Dawson in patches but those patches were again early in the fight. Dawson came close to knocking Pascal down on a few occasions before the headbutt. When Pascal was at his best in that fight, he was quick to find Dawson with fast looking counterpunches and sometimes leapt in from distance. And that's his problem. Hopkins is a master at waiting, judging the distance and timing his opponent when he leaps in from distance. Even early against RJJ (a fight that people make an example out of to the negative for Hopkins) he moved very well and made RJJ miss with everything. If Pascal thinks he can walk all over Hopkins then he's in for a very rude awakening, even this version of Hopkins. Pascal will have his moments in this fight and I see him winning early rounds, but he's going to get countered to **** from the mid-rounds onwards. If he stays on his feet, Pascal will win a hometown decision but it will be close and people on the GF will cry robbery. If Hopkins can get into rythem and time Pascal from the start, he can break his heart and break him down. I think Hopkins has enough left and the smarts to pull this off.
Wow that's pretty bold. Hopkins hasnt KO'd anyone since 2005 and that was the small De La Hoya. Very bold indeed.:thumbsup
Yep. But this guy is green. Hopkins is light years ahead of any of Pascal's opponents. Dawson is a bit of a hype job in my eyes and was a couple of rounds away from stopping Pascal. Froch was/is very crude but found it easy to hit Pascal. Pascal's fitness is very questionable. All of this tells me that a precision counter puncher with a boxing brain = very bad news for a Pascal who's never been in with such a smart fighter.
Also, Hopkins is in fear of the judges, he knows he can't leave it to them. When he hurts Pascal, he's going to be all over him. He will hurt him later on without doubt.
I think you're mistaken... This guy is Green This content is protected And this guy's Pascal This content is protected

Good post man, even if I disagree slightly, you put your take on it intelligently, and I think I might have to sit down and do a bit more homework on this fight. Nice read :good
