Good stuff as always guys. I love guys like Bradley and Ward. Guys who are already considered the best in their weight class but still have the right mentality and hunger to stay motivated and dedicated to their sport. And they both come to fight, especially Bradley. He's got some of Evander Holyfield's heart.

 

On the last episode of on the ropes the hosts really stunned me with their bias of Andre Ward. I mean saying his accomplishments out do Froch, to make him the number one super middle is unjustified. With regards to Ward fighting exclusively at home, that was dismissed by saying there are euro fighters who do the same. Well then in that case if you criticise those guys Ward's criticism is justified.

What are these great achievements being talked about?? fouling to a win against Kessler? Beating an Allen Green that got knocked the **** out by old man Johnson? Getting a massive home town cooked score card against Bika???

Enlighten me as to how those wins are head and shoulders above what Froch has achieved??

Cannot agree with the praise Ward is getting at the moment as he's not done anything of note as yet. Time will tell, but this pro USA bias if thats what it is, does no favour for your credibility guys.

Its obvious they are fond of Andre Ward. Its obvious you are not fond of Andre Ward. So..... you're complaining about some peeps that dont share your opinion or viewpoint? Egotistically moronic....

 

See that's where you are wrong. How am I showing bias? If you look at both fighters achievements side by side and conclude how would you get to the conclusion that Ward is number 1 super middle?

They are entitled to their opinion as am I, so i've just given it, countering their claims that Ward is ahead of Froch. Show me where I am showing bias? If highlighting reality is showing bias then you need to look up the dictionary definition of the word.

I do think Ward has potential, great potential, but what he's done so far does not warrant his position as SMW numero uno. The fact that his fights seem to be marred by controversy whilst fighting at home does nothing to help his case. He's never stepped outside of his comfort zone for starters.

Lastly, this is a discussion forum and I didn't know that discussing/debating a current affairs topic on boxing and offering criticism is considered egotistical and moronic. Or are we not allowed to challenge the views of boxing writers/journalists?


Don't get me wrong I listen to the show every week and they get great guests on the show, and we are not gonna agree with everything said, so with all things considered on the whole, the hosts do a great job. But i'm a little rattled with this one hehe.

I dont want to split hairs over who is better, but Froch will never get his props, he will always suffer the Ricky Hatton treatment, which is not to get full credit because of his lack of technical polish.

 

Ward seems to be seen as a proper exponent of the sweet science, yet he fights so dirty and uses every advantage he can get, refs, home town, judges. I mean the Bika fight confirmed it all. That was no way a landslide win for Ward yet the guy just keeps on getting everything go his way. See I'd like to see when the chips are down and he's out of his home fighting away, what kinda stuff he is really made of.

I am sure he will feel pretty damn naked without all the trimmings he has now. I dont know if Froch beats him, but in Oakland there can only be one winner if it goes to the cards.

 

And when Hopkins spoils and cheats it's noted as "old skool" lol

 

Froch lost to Kessler, even though it could have gone either way.

Ward beat the **** out of Kessler and put on a clinic against him. Yet rather than acknowledge how great of a boxing performance he put on against Kessler, you biased Euro fans insist he only won because he used his head and cheated. If there were no headbutts in that fight at all the result would have been exactly the same and anyone who watched that fight knows that. Instead you prefer to insist he only wins because he's dirty. Meanwhile you refuse to acknowledge that Froch was even dirtier when he fought Dirrell. You are biased.

As far as who should be the #1 Super Middle, it should be Ward. Ward is undefeated while Froch lost his fight before last to a guy that (as I mentioned before) was destroyed by Ward.

This does not mean that Ward has a better resume or has achieved more than Froch though. Froch definitely has a better resume than Ward. I don't know how anyone could argue against that. He shouldn't be ranked ahead of him though.
