He just turned 39 last month.ld Although he's not a knockout fighter I enjoy watching him fight. If he's at least 85% of his old self then I think he's still a force at middleweight. But damn... it seems like, 1) not enough people want to watch his fights 2) not many people want to fight him (even at age 39). Recently he talked about fighting Sergio Martinez. But 1) what will Sergio gain from beating a 39 year old guy coming off two losses and has been inactive for 20 months? 2) why would Sergio put himself in a situation to LOSE to a guy like that? He'll have everything to lose and nothing but a name to gain from that fight. Poor Winky. I've been a big fan from the time you got robbed against Vargas 11 years ago. You had a good run but the lights don't look bright for you at the moment.
Pac be ducking Winky because he's slick. Wait till he gets knocked out though, then it's...LICK THAT TOMATO CAN, SON!
dont get me started on stinky white the ***** complains about everything and thinks the world owes him something, he turned down fights with margo and de la hoya because they were'nt offering him much money, oscar offered 6 mill margos team offered 2/3 mill which is far more than the ***** deserves, dont get me started on all the cry baby **** he pulls during fights like when hopkins cut him open.
You sound pretty bitter @ Winky. He may have priced himself out a few times. It happens all the time in boxing.
nothing wrong with pricing yourself out but he did it and then complained about not getting fights, he's alot like paul williams.
I really dont like the ****. Good fighter but a whining ***** all the same. How did he expect to get big fights when he kept pricing himself outta them and sitting on your hole wont get them either.
I think that was the 1st winky fight I saw and I said to myself this guy won the fight, but Maybe he didnt do enough I think Vargas was the champ and you know in vegas you have to take the crown
I like Winky, but this guy is right. Winky has himself to blame. I don't fell bad at all. Hes made good money to retire nicely. Hes better off than me why feel sorry about him??
SO he priced himself out and complained. Ok, I get it. It would be nice to have sources on those claims but I'll take your word for it. I can't deny that he was a tough SOB. Beating Mosley, Trinidad, I think he beat Taylor but kick himself in his own ass in the eyes of the judges by not really fighting in the 12th, and I personally think he beat Hopkins (I know I'm probably alone on that opinion but I really don't give a f%ck). However the scenario, I think his career story is rather sad.
Winky needs to fight more. He can beat a lot of these guys but he wont fight his way up the rankings.
