Anyone Else Think Hopkins Ill Beat Pascal?

no ass kicking, but bhop is too wily for pascal. the brains will win him a UD.

 

I'm not certain, but I'd edge towards him. Either fighter winning wouldn't be a real surprise. A stoppage from either however would be a real shock.

 

Yeah I got money on Hopkins. Won't be an azz whoppin but he'll win a UD. Pascal is good but not great and I think Hopkins has the style of expose him, even at 46. Pascal seems to tire quickly probably cause of all the muscle he carries around. As long as Hopkins has his conditioning he should pull out the decision.

Dawson just didn't show up that night, no idea why, but I still think he beats Pascal. It really looked like he was about to KO Pascal, he was completely out of gas and out on his feet while the ref stopped it due to the cut. Horrible stoppage. And Froch beat him, so I'm not sold on Pascal yet...

 

I could see fans possibly scoring the fight for Hopkins but I'm not expecting him to get the benefit of the doubt in a close fight.

 

That was so frustrating. It seemed like whenever he went on the attack he was beating the **** out of Pascal but this only seemed to happen a few times when he got pissed off.

 

Hopkins will have to dominate in order to get a decision in Canada.

 

Shut up, that stoppage was OK. It was an horrible cut, pascal would simply have destroyed his face.

 

I'm not expected Pascal to press Hopkins like Calzaghe. He's usually the one being pressed himself and he was a very low workrate and possible stamina issues. I think Hopkins actually wants Pascal to go after him but considering what I mentioned it probably wouldn't be an out attack for 3 minutes but instead a handful of times which will suit Hopkins as he'll look to counter him when dives in with his flurries.

 

Hopkins hasn't looked good in recent fights but he still may be crafty enough to earn a decision.

 

i think hopkins wins this by neautralizing pascals output and then dawson beats pascal to finish the job.

 

Hopkins is too damn old!

Pascals style is based off athleticism
its going to be a very fit young guy vs a very old guy
Hopkins has the brains but his body wont allow him to do what he wants to
his counters are going to miss as pascal hops in and gets out using tons of movement
and when pascal fades, hopkins wont have the power to KO him.

 

My moneys on Hopkins. Hopkins reflexes in the Ornelas fight concern me though, it makes me rethink whether to pick him, but based on his savvy in the ring, I gotta take him over Pascal, as I believe Pascal to be a naive kind of fighter, someone who you can manipulate with the right game plan.

I think Pascal's speed and Hopkins aged reflexes could be a problem, but I think the key to the fight will be, that Pascal will have to come foward, he will most likely have to be the one getting off, setting up his own offense, where as he seems at his best working his offense of his opponents agression, now given that he doesn't have a jab to set up that offense, does not always select the most appropriate times when to attack imo, I think Hopkins will exploit him.

 

Hopkins will slow the fight to his pace by clinching, blocking and countering, and should wear Pascal down. Dawson couldn't use Pascal's speed and aggression against him like Hopkins will. It'll be an ugly fight at times but Bhop should get the win.

 

I think he wins a close UD and gets screwed by the judges
