I Like Tucker, even have a fight of him from 1981, where he was less than 210 lbs, and looked pretty good in his stopagge win, but, his skills never developed like Tubbs did.

Tucker only shined when he was hammering lesser grade fighters in clubs or on undercards.... When Tucker had to face "A" fighters, Tucker normally choked or looked lackluster in winning or drawing.... Tucker proved decent, but never close to greatness..... Don King over-hyped Tucker a whole lot.....

Tubbs was a lazy slob who was blessed with talent and he developed good skills... He boxed and moved well for a whale... Had Tubbs been serious each time in the ring, he might've been great.... But KFC and Twinkies ruined him.....

The only fight he looked lazy and not focused was the witherspoon fight. He looked good in all his other fights in the 80's. He also was not gifted with a top notch body, so I wouldn't buy into him not training hard all the time. Bowe was more lazy than Tubbs was when he became champion and Tubbs IMO defeated Bowe in their fight, and Tubbs was a little past his prime when that fight happened.

I was pissed that Tubbs failed to make 235 against Tyson, thus, he lost a bonus for coming in at 238... Not even extra money could get Tubbs to make 235 pounds in Japan......

You'll enjoy that fight when you see it. It was amazing to me that tubbs handled him with ease that I didn't think he could anymore at that point but he didn't get any credit for it on the scorecards. I really believe that fight was givin to Bowe because he was the new young fighter coming in and Tubbs was on his way out.

Yeah but he looked extremely motivated and very fast for that fight. You can make a case he won the first round against Tyson, I thought it was an even round. If Tyson would of took Tubbs lightly like he did against Douglas, Tubbs would of givin him a boxing lesson, even better than Buster.

I have Page-Coetzee and Bowe-Tubbs. I wouldn't bother with Bowe-Thomas as Thomas was completely shot. I used to have Tillis-Shavers but my wife thought it was a porn tape and broke it. But that's another story....

Yeah I never bothered watching that fight cause I knew Thomas was shot, do you think Thomas was shot when he fought Holyfield or do you think he was the same Thomas that Tyson fought?

I go along with this assessment. Unfortunately it would be a boring fight to watch.

I actually saw the last few rds of "Bowe-Thomas" when it happened, but, I blew my recording. I saw how Bowe was punching Thomas around like a heavy bag for about 7 or 8 rds...

Thomas would go on and KO a handful of bums and stiffs to cap-off his career before fully retiring...

Yes, Thomas was equally shot when he fought Holyfield. The Thomas who lost to Tyson was past his peak, but Tyson effectively ruined what was left. Thomas was an empty shell when he lost to Holyfield and Bowe, and also Morrison. Thomas fought on long after he was shot

Thomas was listed at like age 29 or 30 in '88 when he was diced to pieces on Showtime by Evan Fields in 7 rds or so... Thomas was still buffed and lean, but so friggin' slow and easy to hit... Thomas was horrid in that fight with Fields........

I have all of them Bill, send me a message maybe we could make a trade or something, I know you claim to have an extensive fight library as well so I'm sure we could work something out..
