Let's try to get a consensus on an ESB top 10 boxers of all time. What are yall's list. This is Ring Magazine's and ESPN's top 10. We can use this as a start and then move people around to get an ESB top 10 1. Sugar Ray Robinson 2. Henry Armstrong 3. Muhammad Ali 4. Joe Louis 5. Roberto Duran 6. Willie Pep 7. Harry Greb 8. Benny Leonard 9. Sugar Ray Leonard 10. Pernell Whitaker 1. Sugar Ray Robinson 2. Muhammad Ali 3. Henry Armstrong 4. Joe Louis 5. Willie Pep 6. Roberto Duran 7. Benny Leonard 8. Jack Johnson 9. Jack Dempsey 10. Sam Langford
Easy enough 1)Sam Langdord 2)Harry Greb 3)Sugar Ray Robinson 4)Bob Fitzsimmons 5)Henry Armstrong 6)Joe Gans 7)Ezzaed Charles 8)Archie Moore 9)Joe Walcott 10)Roberto Duran
01. Henry Armstrong 02. Harry Greb 03. Sugar Ray Robinson 04. Sam Langford 05. Ezzard Charles 06. Bob Fitzsimmons 07. Willie Pep 08. Benny Leonard 09. Mickey Walker 10; Roberto Duran
the people who aren't putting Robinson as the top two are kidding themselves....100+ wins and one loss? avenged his only loss four times? 1) SRR 2) Ali 3) Louis 4) Armstrong 5) Duran 6) Archie Moore 7) Pacquiao 8) SRL 9) Hagler 10) Mayweather ...I tend to rank in terms of pure skill...these primitive boxers can't be the greatest of all time because the sport had not evolved enough
By contrast, anybody using the word 'primitive boxer' to describe the likes of Greb and Langford, and putting the likes of Mayweather and Pacquiao in there top 10, are kidding themselves.
Why is putting pac up there so bad? He's beaten four guaranteed hall of famers: Barrera, Morales, Marquez, and De la hoya and two potential hall of famers in Hatton and Cotto (Not to mention the fact that he is a natural featherweight.) How many hall of famers has Hagler beaten, and how many weight classes did he win titles in, yet people don't find it absurd to put him up there.
