Mind you my last post wasn't refering to the grappling...but as far as slipping punches toney could do that if someone choose to try to punch from range. The thing is Ramage has worked allot with Shane Mosley....so I suspect that he would be informed enough to grapple and not strike.
Absolutely.Rampage couldnt hurt Toney from a standing position with his hands.Toney is so punch drunk that it takes 3 weeks for a punch to hurt him. Rampage would just take him to the ground like Randy did.
This is just stupid. Toney, STFU, and go away.... damn. But hey, wont be surprised if they slap a 'MMA vs Boxing' tag on it again, put a Part 2, hype it up, and let Toney continue to embarrass himself, and boxing. Then we can hear for 6 months how this shows how much better MMA is then boxing
Toney had months to learn some basic, basic mma moves (sorry, but MMA at a starters level isnt rocket science) and it was obvious from interviews with his earlier mma trainers (not the yes men who he wound up with) and from the interviews himself, to his total unpreperation when it came time to sprawl, at all, that he took the training about as seriously as was expected. Getting in half shape doesnt mean you took the training seriously. When you have had a few months to learn the basics of mma and you still dont know jack ****, pretty much shows how serious you took the whole thing. I could put my little brother through 2 months of MMA training and I bet you he would be more proficient at it, and more knowledgeable in it, then Toney was. Toney went for the payday and nothing else. And in all honesty, Toneys very own boxing is getting overrated at this point. He is slow, his once mighty chin is gone, he is sloppy, and just.... embarrassing. I dont like to talk about a fighter of Toneys calibre in such ways but he brings it upon himself with his continued disrespect of everything around him. Couture could have made that night a true, living hell for him, but he fought with class, and showed nothing but respect afterwards. Time to move on. If Toney is so desperate for money, he should focus on mma fights against the likes of Tank Abbott Kimbo Slice Ray Mercer Marius Butterbean I actually think a Toney vs Tank fight would be kinda cool in its own way, and would watch it.
if toney is going to fight again he should do a circus act aganst someone he stands a chance against....kimbo..then maybe mariuz......if he beats them two (i doubt he would )..then i could see him getting to cash out aganst someone like rampage..but right now it would be just too foolish.
I don't think there are many fighters that are a big enough draw to make money for Toney, that are bad enough for him to beat. Kimbo maybe, but even Kimbo would take him down. Outside of that I don't think anybody with any sort of name is going to lose to him unless they are paid to stand and box. Tank, Mercer, and Butterbean are not going to earn him any money; and Marius Pudzianowski is not a guaranteed win, nor particularly famous in the US MMA world. Maybe they can find him an actor or comedian in Japan.
how about batista...he has no actual combat or wrestling background..other then pro wrestling. and he was never a guy trained in shoot catch as catch can...just a modern WWE show wrestler......
Put your brother against former world champion MMA fighter, after that two months and I guarantee he will look like he dont know **** about basic MMA
Rampage would just take the fight to the ground not being able to do anything in the stand up and that's where it would end. Toney-Chuck Liddell looks a much better matchup, if it's only a dream. Dana White would never risk the embarrassment of the UFCs most famous ever fighter losing to a washed up boxer.
La Delle would be a great opponent for him. I suspect he'd quickly try for for the TD though, as would any MMA fighter, other than Fedor who for some reason loves to fight to his opponents strengths. Other suitble opponents would include Buttabean, Sapp and Hong Man Choi - Toney has to be looking at the Japanese freak show market if he wants another crack at the MMA cherry
