Why Have People Changed Their Mind All Of A Sudden On The PPV?

Because Dereck 'Back-Breaker' Chisora isn't fighting.

 

Because I'd have a better night out on the town Saturday night. Simple as that.

I would have stayed in and watched it had there been more competitive fights. I also wanted to see how Andy Lee would do against a decent opponent. I think Smith-DeGale won't be as near as competitive as some are making it out to be also. If Khan wasn't on it, they couldn't sell it as a PPV as it's merely a very good Friday Night Fights card. The only fight I'm excited about on the PPV is Khan v Maidana.

 

If Khan-Maidana had fallen through and not Chisora-Wlad then I would've definitely not bought the PPV.

When I look at a PPV I'm looking at quality. If I'm paying £15 on top of my Sky sub already I want to watch fights that I'll enjoy or I'm interested in. Apart from DeGale-Smith nothing else on that card really has my interest.

im better off youtubeing those three 'good' fight hightlights the next day and putting the £15 on a few fights down the bookies so technically im still putting the money into boxing

 

Even though it was a mismatch, Klit/Chis was a big fight on the card, and would have provided some HW excitement. The same thing happened when Barker had to pull out of the Mag 7, the rest of the card looked more and more sketchy and people talked about not bothering with it. No need to be getting your knickers in a twist just because Khan is involved.

 

It's nothing particular about Chisora, if could be any UK heavyweight prospect really, it's sold on Klitscho, all the casual fans know of them and this UK underdog Vs one of them. That's it appeal

 

laz my old cocker,if khan was fighting orinoco on wimbledon common with great uncle bulgaria reffing,you would think it was PPV worthy,and slate us all for not buying it.

No - those are the only competitive fights on the card, Ortiz-Peterson being the best for my money. Khan-Maidana will either turn into a one-sided beating or a dull stick-and-move clinic.

 

yeah, its still a decent PPV card with a big fight at the end of it (Khan/Maidana). If they had sold it as a Khan card with this card as an undercard people would have said it was brilliant. But cause it got hyped up as an event seperate people are dissapointed due to the pull outs.

Saying that if i had bought a ticket to the event i would have likely sold them but im happy to watch it for £15 with the khan card on top.

They should put the bantam tourney on a delay on the next day to make up for the mis-matches

 

im buying it yes but im gutted now that the chisora fight aint happening.

im now paying 15 pound and getting less for my money.

 

I was gutted that Gavin wasnt fighting but then realised he probably wouldnt have been shown anyway, the change in Cleverlys opponent hasnt bothered me much but the fact Chisora isnt fighting now has disappointed me, I will still get the PPV but I was really looking forward to that fight.

 

It's still a great card. I was sort of looking forward to the Wlad fight although it would have been typical Wlad until the inevitable ending. I would have enjoyed seeing Gavin but he would have won easily.

Also the title appears to have changed. It's now 'King Khan and the Brit Pack' which does make more sense as Khan/Maidana is now the only fight with a good Brit against a good foreign fighter. The bad side is they don't have to commit to showing at least 8 fights now.

 

I have complained about this not beineg PPV worthy as apart from De Gale there isn't a fight on the Liverpool card where both fighters are up and comers and is an even steven contest. The Khan fight is a good one but its on very late.

However, my complaints were more a result of frustration and anger at the Klitschko fight falloing through as I was looking forward to seeing a real star of boxing on the show. I agree with someone on another thread though, peopel over react when Warren is involved (myself included) and it is also true that this is a far better card than the shite we have bought in the past- Haye vs Harrisson and Khan vs ***an.

I will buy it but I am also disappointed at the quality as its FW's 30th anniversary this is as good as its going to get, and we could all easiuly draw up a better card.

I hope it is a success though as I would much rather see a card like this with a lot of fights on it, than the usual rubbish of 2 fights worth watching if we are lucky.

The bottom line is peoiple don't like having to pay extra on top of the sky subscription for boxing at all.
